Get outside and learn about local nature! Jackie Germain and Jody Sloane of the Warner Conservation Commission have RESCHEDULED the FREE Autumn Nature Scavenger Hunt to Sunday Nov. 7 at 10 am at Silver Lake (Town Beach) on Bean Road. There will be a story time, and treats for the kids after the scavenger hunt. Costumes are still welcomed.
The rain last Saturday (2.5 inches in parts of Warner) caused the brooks to reach flood stage, which would have made some activities less safe.
The rainfall also partially refilled the "lake", which has been drawn down to prepare for repairs. Otters were seen this week, as well as wild turkeys. The water level is low again now to enable replacement of a valve at the dam, and a culvert repair.
