Stay Safe and Health: Get Your Annual Flu Shot
|
Flu season has started and, this year especially, it’s even more important to guard yourself against the virus.
Because the flu and COVID-19 are circulating at the same time there’s an increased risk of being exposed to both viruses. The most safe and effective way to keep you, your family and your friends healthy is by getting your annual flu shot. According to the CDC, flu shots can reduce the risk of getting the flu by up to 60%, lessen the severity of symptoms and stop the spread of flu to others.
Looking to get schedule an appointment? Make sure to start by reviewing your insurance plan to find the best way to get your flu shot.
- For students covered under the Student Health Insurance plan, the cost of flu shots is 100% covered at many pharmacy locations, including at the Wilce Student Health Center.
- If you’re covered under a different insurance place, contact your insurance carrier to ask how flu shots are covered by your insurance, and confirm where you can get them from network providers and pharmacies.
