AMCA Issues FAQs for New Seals, Compliance-Filing Service

AMCA announces the publication of frequently-asked-questions (FAQ) documents pertaining to its new quick-response- (QR-) code-bearing performance seals and soon-to-launch California Title 20 compliance-filing service.

The documents, “Quick-Response (QR) Codes for AMCA-Certified Products” and “AMCA’s California Title 20 Compliance-Filing Service,” are available on the AMCA website.

With the release of AMCA Publication 11-22, Certified Ratings Program Operating Manual, in February came the requirement for QR codes on the seals affixed to AMCA-certified products and in AMCA-approved product catalogs. The purpose of the QR codes is to facilitate verification of a product’s certification through the AMCA Certified Ratings Program (CRP). “Quick-Response (QR) Codes for AMCA-Certified Products” is intended to help CRP participants understand how to implement the new requirement.

On Nov. 16, 2022, the California Energy Commission (CEC) approved an efficiency regulation for commercial and industrial fans and blowers as part of Title 20, Public Utilities and Energy, of the California Code of Regulations. Manufacturers have until Nov. 16, 2023, to comply with the regulation. As a service, AMCA will file for compliance on behalf of CRP participants. The purpose of “AMCA’s California Title 20 Compliance-Filing Service” is to answer common questions about the service.
