Salute to Servicewomen Golf Classic
This is the 8th year chapter members Jodie Skolnick, Laura Ludwig (veteran), Lori Windschitl and Cheryl Nordby (veteran) have organized this charity event that honors women veterans. Funds raised assist the unique needs of women veterans and their families facing homelessness by helping them transition into permanent housing through the programs of Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (mac-v.org).
MN Metro sponsored a party cart. Pauline Whelan decorated and collected fun items promoting the LPGA Amateurs that winners took home. The lucky raffle winners (2 woman veterans) were thrilled! Volunteering your time and talents not only benefits the charity but can lead to promoting our chapter to businesses and gaining new members.

Added Fun: LPGA Amateurs National Tournaments
Being an LPGA Amateur Member provides more opportunities than our local chapter leagues and events. National offers tournaments with competition against members from other Chapters in both individual and team play. For instance:
-
Chapter Members Janette Schull, Ann Borders and Kymberly Eide competed in the 2022 Championship Series / Sections in Kansas City; as did Angie Christo in Freeport PA. Janette and Kymberly qualified to compete in the Championship Finals in California at the end of July.
-
In June, four MN Metro teams traveled to Lake Geneva to compete in a 4-person team Scramble Open event.
-
The 2022 Cup is a 2 day 8-person team event with several locations to qualify for the finals in Marble Falls, Texas. Registration starts July 6th.
-
The 2022 Virtual Scramble runs from July 8- 24. It’s a fun way to support LPGA Amateurs without leaving home. Several of our Members have participated, and two years ago a team from the MN Metro won this event! Get a team, create a fun name and lets try for another winner!
For more information on these events and to register, visit the LPGA Amateurs national WEBSITE.

Call For 2023 Board Members
Our Chapter is Volunteer Dependent! The Board of Directors is what keeps us “in business”! A nominating committee is being formed and will be reaching out for candidates. Please contact Janette Schull at: jschull1@comcast.net or 651 583 7624 to inquire about the open Board positions. Serving on a volunteer board looks very good on your resume and if you’re retired, it’s a great way to keep involved!
