2021-2022 NAAE Board of Directors and Regional Secretaries
Congratulations to the 2021-2022 NAAE Board of Directors and regional secretaries. NAAE is governed by a 10-member board of directors elected by the NAAE membership represented by official voting delegates at the annual NAAE convention. Each NAAE region also elects a regional secretary to assist the regional vice president, however, they are not considered members of the board of directors. NEW AND NOTEWORTHY
2022 NAAE Facilitator Training Academy
Congratulations to the NAAE members who have been invited to attend the 2022 NAAE Facilitator Training Academy. The overall goal of the NAAE Facilitator Training Academy is to further develop agricultural educators' ability to create and facilitate dynamic learning environments that will support the mission and goals of NAAE and the agricultural education profession.

Individuals who attend will provide training during NAAE professional development events such as the Future Agriscience Teacher Symposium (FAST), Agriscience Inquiry Institutes (Ag I2), the eXcellence in Leadership for Retention (XLR8) professional development program, Teachers Turn the Key, NAAE My Local Cooperative Instructional Modules Trainings, and other professional development offered through NAAE. The 2022 NAAE Facilitator Training Academy will be presented by NAAE mentor facilitators and Oregon agricultural educators J.D. Cant and Wes Crawford.

NAAE/ACTE NATIONAL POLICY SEMINAR

Be on the lookout in early 2022 for information on the NAAE/ACTE National Policy Seminar held annually in Washington, DC. This event is a great way to get involved in shaping agricultural education legislative support through advocacy. This year's event will take place March 21-23, 2022. NAAE will pay the registration for one person per state. More information from NAAE is coming soon. Click here for more general information from ACTE.
CURRICULUM FOR AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE EDUCATION (CASE)

Registration is OPEN for 2022 CASE Institutes
Since 2007, CASE has certified more than 3,000 teachers in 11 courses at CASE Institutes nationwide. These 9-10 day professional development events, hosted by affiliate institutions, take teachers through 150 days of the inquiry-based, STEM-centered curriculum. CASE will offer virtual and in-person events in 2022. Want to join in? Learn more and register here

Thrive 2022 Postponed
Due to the desire to attend in-person professional development, Thrive 2022 has been postponed to January 9-13, 2023. Thrive 2022 programming will be implemented at the 2023 conference. You may preview the Thrive 2023 Conference program here. To learn more about Thrive, including cost, group rate options, and how to attend, click here
NAAE MY LOCAL COOPERATIVE INSTRUCTIONAL MODULES

Have you checked out the NAAE My Local Cooperative Instructional Modules yet? Created in partnership with the CHS Foundation, these free modules include everything educators need to deliver quality instruction on the cooperative business model and more.

Highlights of the modules include:

  • Three modules complete with material lists, teacher notes, presentation tools, handouts, and assessments.
  • Quality instruction on the cooperative business model, the impact of cooperatives in the community, and cooperative career opportunities.
  • Designed to help students think critically, understand democracy, and build community.
  • 17 inquiry-based tasks, activities, and assessments over 24 days.

The National Association of Agricultural Educators is a federation of state agricultural educators' associations with more than 9,000 members. NAAE members are involved in school-based agricultural education at any level, from middle school through postsecondary, and state and national agricultural education leadership.

NAAE advocates for agricultural education, provides professional development for agricultural educators, and works to recruit and retain agricultural educators in the profession. NAAE offers a variety of programs and services to support this three-pronged mission including leading the National Teach Ag Campaign, managing the Curriculum for Agriscience Education (CASE), and administering all aspects of My Local Cooperative. NAAE programs are vast and expansive to reach every member of every age and at every stage of their career.
