At Home With Wilton Library
January 13, 2021
January in the Time of COVID
So far, not so good in 2021. But we're staying tuned for brighter days. To offer a historical frame of reference on the recent political turmoil, today we give you books written by former presidents, including a collection of inaugural speeches. Awaiting vaccines, many of us continue to work from home; you'll find some renewed inspiration and useful hacks with new books geared specifically for 'pajama' jobs. We've also got recent thriller/suspense novels as well as helpful COVID coping tools and other programs to keep you informed, inspired, enriched, and engaged. Find what you need this month at Wilton Library. We're here for you.
From poignant memoirs to thoughtful retrospectives on their time in office, the words of our presidents can be veritable treasure troves of wisdom, advice, and commentary.
Those presidents who have gone on to write books have created a legacy that extends beyond their political lives and given us some truly great reads. See a selection here.

The Legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. dedicated his life to the nonviolent struggle for racial equality. The third Monday in January marks Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a national holiday that honors King and challenges citizens to engage in volunteer service in their communities. King's legacy and speeches powerfully examine the state of American democracy and call this nation to its highest self.
