Dear Friends of the Foundation,
As the 2020-21 school year comes to a close, we all are aware that the year looked different for the students, families, and teachers in WBLAS. We listened and learned just how different things have been for them, and we want to reassure you that something especially important has not changed and is now more important than ever and that is the WBLAEF mission: “To enhance the School District's ability to provide excellence in education for all students.”
We also want you to know that because of your generous support, WBLAEF programs continued to make an impact. This includes the popular Angel Fund, the newly created COVID-19 Fund, teacher grants, and student scholarships. Most importantly, we are confident that the Foundation will continue to provide opportunities to all students and teachers in the district in the months and years ahead.
One important way we raise revenue is through various special events. In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some of our events were cancelled and some were held virtually. I am thrilled to announce that this year, we are able to resume some normalcy to our events and that the annual golf tournament is back this summer! The golf tournament will be held on Monday, August 16 at a different venue - Oak Glen Golf Course, in beautiful Stillwater.
I hope you can join us for a day that is guaranteed to be a highlight of your summer! Please be sure to register by June 11 to ensure your spot on the course and to be eligible for the "Early Birdie" $100 drawing! For anyone interested, sponsorships are still available (see information below).
