Greetings!

As you know, last November the board of directors of TLC accepted the resignation of Holly Richard as our President & CEO. At that time, Dan Daniel was asked to serve as interim until a permanent replacement was identified. In May, Dan stepped away to move to South Carolina and I’ve been serving as Interim President & CEO ever since. After a very thorough search and interview process, I am thrilled to introduce Sarah Crawford as TLC’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Sarah first joined the TLC Family in 2011 when she became the Director of Development and Public Relations. During Sarah’s tenure, TLC was recognized as the 2013 Band Together partner, raising more than $850,000 for the organization. Additionally, she oversaw the 2014 strategic planning process, represented TLC across the community with government and corporate leaders, and developed a campaign to grow the endowment through individual and planned gifts.

Since leaving in 2015, Sarah has served as National Director for Single Stop, a national nonprofit that helps individuals achieve economic prosperity by connecting them to benefits and resources. Single Stop has helped more than 2 million individuals connect to more than $6.5 billion in benefits and resources. Under Sarah’s leadership, the organization expanded to 11 states, created partnerships with four statewide systems, worked with the New York State Department of Health to run a healthcare navigation program, and developed a partnership with the Internal Revenue Service that resulted in one of the nation’s largest free-tax-preparation programs that helps individuals file their taxes for free.

Sarah is a lifelong public servant and will also be serving as a State Senator representing district 18 in the general assembly. This is a two-year term, and we are fortunate that she will bring her experience from the intellectual and developmental disability community to the legislature.

Sarah holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from North Carolina State University. She is married to her husband Dan and is the mother of two daughters. Her official start date is Monday, November 30th. Please join me in welcoming Sarah Crawford back into the TLC Family as our new CEO.

Thank you for standing with us and continuing to support our mission this year. I wish you a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving holiday.

All my best,
Mike Krannitz
