UBC Wood Products Processing Virtual Co-op Presentation Night

Due to the ongoing pandemic restrictions, the next co-op night will be virtual. Please join us for our UBC Wood Products Processing (WPP) Virtual Co-op Presentation Night on Thursday, January 28th, 2021.
 
Intermediate and senior students in the B.Sc. Wood Products Processing degree program at the University of British Columbia will be delivering presentations on their most recent co-op work terms. This is a fantastic opportunity to see what the students are able to accomplish in the work place.
 
When: Thursday, January 28th, 2021, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

One of the biggest draws for Specifiers is meeting value-added manufacturers and learning more about their products. Brent Comber, a renowned artist known worldwide for his thought-provoking wood sculptures and alluring designs is preparing to unveil his newest exhibition on December 10 at the Brent Comber Atelier Studio in North Vancouver.

Discovery highlights the sparse emotions that culminate in a desire to explore endless possibilities as we transition from the unknown into the known. Within this process is where we are introduced into a world of components that contribute to the shorelines, eco-system, and the life forms that inhabit the intersection of land and ocean.

The UBC Centre for Advanced Wood Processing is proud to launch The Wood Innovation Group (TWIG), formerly known as the Outside the Box meet-up group. The new format will feature monthly online meet-ups along with the TWIG (www.twigbc.ca) website, which will be a resource for wood related professionals focused on facilitating creative projects and product development using local resources. TWIG's goal is to provide time, space, knowledge, skills, experience, and people, for the local design and wood communities to connect, learn, innovate, and build projects - all for the love of wood.
