DRIVE THRU TEXTBOOK PICKUP

Last call for textbook pickup. Have your ID card out and ready to scan.

FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH

Curbside pickup of a free breakfast and lunch is available 7:30 am to 1:00 pm Monday through Friday.  Come to the Gate 3 entrance before Basswood where the line forms outside the gym. This program is open to any student 18 and under and recipients do not need to be enrolled in PVPUSD. No pre-order required. All meals include an entrĂ©e, choice of milk and seasonal fruit and vegetables. Menus are at pvpusdschoolnutrition.net.

 

DL SUPPORT GROUP

PLUS Leadership is offering a student led Distance Learning support group next Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 1:00 pm. Join us to discuss DL concerns and break into study groups. RSVP here.

 

AMC REGISTRATION

The American Mathematics Competition is next month. There are a limited number of exams available for late registration which is held on a first come, first serve basis. The AMC is on Thursday, Feb. 4 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm, so if you are interested in participating, don't delay. For more information, email [email protected].

 

PTSA STRAW BALLOT

If you are interested in getting more involved with the PTSA, why not nominate yourself or others for the Executive Board. Deadline to submit is January 22. Click here for the ballot.

 

P.S.A.T. ONLINE BOOT CAMP

Get ready for the Jan. 26 PSAT or the spring SAT's by taking the two day virtual boot camp offered by DB Academics. Classes are held on Saturday, Jan. 23 and Sunday, Jan. 24. Go to dbacademics.com for more information or click here for the flyers for both the boot camp and prep course. Deadline to register is Wednesday, Jan. 27. This is also a fundraiser for Peninsula's PTSA.

 

CAPS & GOWNS

Seniors may place orders for graduation caps and gowns, class rings, and letterman jackets online. Click here to download  the brochure which includes additional details and the order form. NOTE: if you order the basic package, which includes cap, gown, tassel and medallion, the cost is $40 plus tax and processing fee. It is in the green section of the order form under "Senior Pride" and is listed as "Cap and Gown Unit." If you purchase this unit, you keep the cap, gown, tassel and medallion.  Students may also use a loaner gown, cap, medallion at no cost. To use the loaner package, which is paid for by our school, fill out the form here by Monday, Feb. 15, 2021. If you choose the loaner package, all items must be returned to Peninsula following the graduation ceremony. Orders may be placed at moongradservices.com.

 

YEARBOOK PICTURES

Telling the story of a school year is the responsibility of the yearbook staff, but in this COVID-19 era, it is different. They need whatever photos you have of school life, activities and events for 2020-2021. Not all photos will be published, but if you don't share, your pictures can't be considered. CSF COLLECTION

California Scholarship Federation, California's oldest honor society, begins online winter collection based on first semester grades now through Jan. 22. Late memberships will not be accepted. There are no applications needed for this semester if your name is on the list. Be sure to check the list by clicking here before you proceed. There is a non-refundable CSF membership fee of $25 per semester which you must pay when you apply for membership at the PVPHS Webstore. If you encounter any webstore issues, please contact Ms. Croucier at [email protected]. If your name is not on the list and you believe it should be or if you are in a guided study class and your name is not on the list, email the advisor, Mrs. Okamoto, at [email protected]. Seniors, remember that to achieve Sealbearer status you must have at least one semester of membership during your senior year and this semester fulfills that requirement.

 

MUSIC AUDITIONS

Want to be part of Pen's award winning music department next year? Mark your calendar now as auditions are being held next month. Returning Peninsula students will audition during regular class time and students not currently enrolled in the instrumental music programs at Miraleste, PV Intermediate, or Pen need to contact the Peninsula music department to set up an audition. COLLEGE CAREER CENTER

NEW SERIES CONTINUES

The College Career Centers of Peninsula and PV High are hosting a College Essentials Toolkit virtual series this semester. The next presentation is Tuesday, Jan. 19 starting at 6:30 pm when Torsten Sannar of Compass Education Group will discuss admissions testing and COVID-19's impact.
