UPDATE: FFCRA COVID Sick Pay taken through 12/31/2020 can be paid in payrolls dated in 2021

Credits will be posted in Qtr. 1, 2021.

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) allowed credits to Employers for wages paid to employees for reasons specifically related to COVID-19.

The FFCRA is set to expire on December 31, 2020, unless Congress extends the Act.

The IRS updated their website on 12/17 to indicate that these wages may be paid to employees after December 31, 2020, as long as the leave was taken BEFORE December 31, 2020. This means that FFCRA credits may be paid out in the first payroll in January 2021.

PayData will continue to monitor this and will send an update if the FFCRA SICK codes are to be extended.
