CLAS, in collaboration with Union Institute & University's Institute for Social Justice, presents a new series of conversations about inclusive language. This free series will take place on Zoom and consist of 3 panels (all times EDT):
- Oct. 13, 2-4pm: Spanish
- Nov. 2, 4-6pm: Portuguese
- Nov. 15, 4-6pm: Indigenous Languages (Nahuatl, Quechua, Yucatec Maya
The series will offer a panorama of inclusive language in these languages in terms of its linguistic manifestation, adoption by speakers, relationship to gender roles and cultural norms, connection to social movements and human rights, etc. Each conversation will be led by a diverse team of panelists with unique expertise and perspectives who will educate and challenge us on these topics.
