Beloved congregation,
The Fall Theology Conference is this weekend. I hope you will make plans to join us for some rich teaching time on Saturday and Sunday. Our theme for the weekend is "Sovereign Over All: God's Sovereignty and Our Daily Lives." Please be in prayer for Dr. Waters as he makes final preparations to be with us. Having had Dr. Waters as a professor in seminary, I can assure you that he will bring the Word of God to our hearts with theological precision and practical wisdom.
Arthur W. Pink once wrote, "Divine sovereignty is not the sovereignty of a tyrannical Despot, but the exercised pleasure of One who is infinitely wise and good! Because God is infinitely wise, He cannot err, and because He is infinitely righteous, He will not do wrong. Here then is the preciousness of this truth. The mere fact itself that God's will is irresistible and irreversible fills me with fear, but once I realize that God wills only that which is good, my heart is made to rejoice." May similar thoughts flood our souls this weekend.
See you Saturday morning,
~Pastor Joe

Sunday Fellowship Lunches
Fellowship Lunches are a great way to get to know each other in a more relaxed home setting while sharing a meal once each month. Host families provide a place to meet after church on the first Sunday of each month. WPC members and visitors will sign up on the Blue Sheet and will bring a side dish, salad or dessert to the lunch.
Host families will be given a list of 8 to 10 people who’ve signed up for lunch that week and they will contact the attendees with their address, start time and other specific information before Sunday worship. All are welcome - families with small children, singles, visitors, senior members, new members. The next Fellowship Lunches will be held Sunday, October 3rd. Sign up on the Blue Sheet this Sunday. For more information contact Brian McFadden or Rachel Buhl.

Young Adult Social
Come to the Stovehouse (3414 Governors Dr) on Monday, October 4th at 6:00 p.m. This is a great chance for 20-30-somethings to get to know each other! Meet at the courtyard — there's a nice food court, lots of seating, and space for kids to run around. All ages welcome.

The Hustons also serve the local church, making disciples and encouraging local church leaders. They have four short-term apprentices who will join the team in Spring 2022, so please pray for them as they raise support and work through the visa process.

"Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work"
