3,342 cases reported in Elmhurst as of 1/14/21.
The State of Illinois is currently under Tier 3 COVID-19 Resurgence Mitigations.

At a press conference held on January 15th, Governor Pritzker announced that at this time DuPage County will remain in Phase 4 Tier 3 Mitigations. If the County's metrics continue to improve, Region 8 (including Elmhurst) will move into Tier 2 mitigations. Tier 2 allows for the return of group fitness classes and group sports with restrictions, as well as the reopening of casinos and cultural institutions with restrictions among other changes. Indoor dining restrictions are not affected by a move into Tier 2. The Governor announced however that when Regions meet Tier 1 Mitigations, limited indoor dining at restaurants and bars serving food will be allowed to the lesser of 25 or 25% capacity per room in the establishment. When available, updated information on the restrictions in each Tier will be posted on the DCEO website: https://www2.illinois.gov/dceo/Pages/default.aspx

DCHD is currently working to prioritize vaccinations in alignment with the Phase 1a recommendations from the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) which includes healthcare personnel (HCP), as defined by CDC and further defined by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). HCP currently providing direct patient care services will receive top priority, pending vaccine supply.

Upon completion of Phase 1a, DCHD will continue to follow the guidance provided by IDPH to determine who is eligible during Phase 1b. DuPageCounty residents should visit the IDPH COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Planning Guide (Section 4) to confirm they are considered part of Phase 1b. DCHD estimates being approximately 2-3 weeks away from beginning to vaccinate Phase 1b individuals.
