Supporting the safety and well-being of our entire community
It's spring, at long last! With the ever-changing guidelines and restrictions of the pandemic, it might feel challenging to celebrate those April showers (and soon to arrive May flowers). Even with vaccines offering a light at the end of the tunnel, many of us are stuck in a bit of a funk. The New York Times recently published an article describing that “blah” feeling that may be plaguing you – it’s called “languishing.” One of the antidotes to languishing is enjoyable experiences, and the arrival of spring is a great opportunity to find those small pleasures. Moving into May, we recommend hitting the reset button, and carving out more time to appreciate the beauty around us.
Vaccine Clinic for YW Residents

We are excited to share news of our partnership with The Alex to bring COVID-19 vaccine clinics to YW Calgary. On April 22, we ran our first clinic for residents of our Transitional Housing and Sheriff King Home programs. Thirty-three individuals received the Moderna vaccine at the YW Hub, and a second clinic will be scheduled in coming weeks.
YW Fitness is Currently Closed

Following the provincial government's shift back to Step 1 of the relaunch plan on April 6, we once again closed the doors at YW Fitness.

We look forward to when we can welcome our members back, crank the tunes, and have some fun workouts again!
Introducing Our New Executive Team Member

This month, we welcomed Robert Sano onto the Executive Team as Vice President, Information Technology, Digital Strategy and Risk.

Robert will be leading YW’s IT team, and strategically creating solutions to meet the needs of our employees, clients, and community through digital and online technology services.
A Q&A with Mackenzie Fraser, Mindful Moments Facilitator

We sat down (virtually, of course!) with Mackenzie, one of our Mindful Moments Facilitators. Head over to the blog to learn about her role, the Mindful Moments program, and how mindfulness is helping people cope with the stresses and challenges of the pandemic.
