Bike & Ped Safety Reporter Tool
Under the leadership of the North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Organization (NFRMPO), a pilot version of a Bike & Ped Safety Reporter Tool was introduced at Bike to Work Day a couple of weeks ago. The tool not only allows community members to self-report “near misses,” something that BFC took initiative wanting to address last year, but also allows for reporting other hazards that users may experience while participating in active modes of transportation. Support for BFC's Vision
Bike Fort Collins officially established the vision it has for Fort Collins back in early 2020, and formally introduced it in June of last year, in conjunction with bringing the movie Together We Cycle to town. At this summer's Bike to Work Day, we began collecting names of those who subscribe to the vision. We were psyched to see all those who share and support it.
Intersection / Facility Focus - E. Vine Dr. & N. Timberline Rd.
Continuing with locations that you (our readers) helped identify from our April call for areas of concern, for this month, we focus on the intersection of E. Vine Drive and N. Timberline Road. It's an intersection complicated by the proximity of the railroad crossing. Have you ever experienced conflict or felt unsafe when traveling by bike through this intersection? Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete this brief survey. Your voice matters!
In our last issue, we conducted a similar survey and posed the same safety related questions for the intersection of College Ave. and Mountain Ave. Thank you to those who responded. READ RESULTS SUMMARY
You Know Me. I Ride a Bike. - Stesha Irons
To say she is energetic is an understatement. A certified nurse midwife (CNM), Stesha Irons is the kind of person who trades in their lunch hour to increase the health and well-being of her fellow employees. She does things because they need to be done, because she feels a sense of responsibility to her fellow humans and because she wants to put something good out into the world. It is this “goodness” that had Stesha on our radar for “You Know me, I Ride a Bike.” She isn’t famous, hasn’t committed herself to any epic biking endeavors or competed in any races. If anything, Stesha is more a typical Fort Collins story. READ MORE

Thank You, Anna!
It is with a bit of sadness (for us), but mostly gratitude and happiness (for her) that we bid Anna Kelso farewell from the Bike Fort Collins team, as she moves on to a new opportunity. Anna has been our Community Relations Coordinator since 2019. Through the pandemic, she has been instrumental in helping to lead the charge in bringing back events like Tour de Pi€, Tour de Farms, RAT Rides, BFC Happy Hours and more recently, Bike Prom. Anna is also to be credited as the inspiration and passion behind our Asphalt Art initiative. Her advocacy ultimately engaged multiple city departments and produced three street mural installations late last year, in the pursuit of introducing the use of paint and art to make our streets safer. While Anna is leaving BFC, she won’t be far as she joins the FC Moves team within the city as an Active Modes Specialist. Again, we are happy for Anna and congratulate her on her new role, but will most certainly miss her too.
We're Hiring
Community Relations & Program Coordinator
With Anna leaving, we are seeking her replacement, an individual with strong communication, development and program management skills, as well as a passion for bicycling. The Community Relations & Program Coordinator is a part-time role that supports promotion, awareness generation, capacity building initiatives, and the delivery support of some BFC programs. READ MORE

Business Partner Profile

Membership Business Partners are business members of BFC, who also provide a special incentive (i.e. offer, discount or perk) for our individual and family members.

This month we highlight Membership Business Partner: Josh & John's Ice Cream

Born out of adventure and necessity, Josh and John's was started in 1986 by two Colorado College graduates who saw an opportunity to bring homemade ice cream to the Colorado Springs area. It's been a local staple for years and is now sweeping across Colorado, and we're lucky they've landed in Fort Collins (Jessup Farm). If you haven't tried it, ride on over and check it our, you don't know what you're missing.

BFC members receive double punches on their Josh & John's "Icecream-o-meter" punch card when they show their BFC membership card.
