New Season of Mondays with Michael
Thank you to everyone who attended our Mondays with Michael events on Facebook Live. In response to the wonderful feedback from our attendees, we will be presenting another season of Mondays with Michael! The new season will begin in September and continue through the entirety of the 2022/2023 school year, so stay tuned for a full list of dates and topics.

As with last season, there is no need to register or provide any information. Just visit our Facebook page every Monday at 10am to watch, and remember to leave a comment!

NJ Department of Ed. Announces $40 Million in Funding to Expand Preschool into More School Districts
"The NJDOE has now broadened the number of districts that can apply for funding from those that have 20 percent of their students are from lower-income families (as defined by being eligible for free or reduced priced lunch) to districts with 10 percent of students who meet the income eligibility standards.
After school districts apply to the notice of funding opportunity, the NJDOE is expected in September to notify the districts that have been approved for funding, allowing schools to implement their new high-quality preschool programs in October of this year."

The Arc of the United States offers a special education advocacy training program to help families and staff better understand the special education process and family rights. This unique curriculum includes specific information about early intervention, IEPs and 504 plans, and is a valuable tool for any parent with a child who receives special education and related services. Once completed, you will be given access to all of the online curriculum materials should you need them in the future.

Planning For Adult Life created a free "Got Plans?" guide and matching online curriculum for students. The guide and fun instructional videos will help students navigate decisions on the road to adulthood.

Customizing Technology Solutions for College Students with Learning Disabilities
Coupled with the application of universal design principles, new and different types of assistive technologies - many specifically designed for students with learning disabilities - are also becoming commonplace. These tools allow students greater independence in learning by customizing applications to maximize learning strengths and to minimize or circumvent specific learning weaknesses.
Camp Jaycee is Back!
Camp Jaycee is a residential summer camp for individuals 18 and older with IDD. Campers enjoy games, sports, swimming, boating, crafts, dance and nature. It is a magnificent environment!

The campsite is on 185 acres of forests, fields and streams in the lovely Pocono Mountains, a short distance from the New Jersey border. The centerpiece of camp is a beautiful two-acre spring-fed pond. Nearby, the air-conditioned dining hall is the hub of camp life. A modern, fully staffed infirmary is near the athletic field and basketball courts. The male and female living areas contain clusters of air-conditioned sleeping cabins, each with their own modern bathroom.
