Principal's Corner
Dear Adams Elementary School Families,

We hope you all had a great break and are doing well as we begin the new year. We would like to introduce Milica Milovanovic as our new 4th/5th teacher at Adams. Please see her introduction below and thank you! Also, please plan to attend the Adams Elementary Winter Quarter PTA Community Meeting on January 26th. Kelly and I will be available for questions during the meeting and we would like to update you on any information that we have at that time.

Doug, Kelly and Tom

Hello Adams Elementary families and staff! I am Ms. M (Ms. Milovanovic is a little bit of a mouthful!), the new 4th/5th grade teacher in room 202. I am honored to join this school and have felt very welcomed by everyone my first week here.

A little about me: I was born in Serbia and moved to America when I was five, and had to learn English as an ELL student. I've lived in the greater Seattle area since I was seven years old and went to the University of Washington for both undergraduate and graduate school (a Husky for life!). I enjoy cross-stitching, origami, reading, and travel.

Last year, my first year teaching, I taught third grade in an English international school in Serbia (where it was easier to do some of that traveling over breaks and connect with my culture). Now I am back home with my family and from September to December this year I was a long-term substitute at Louisa Boren STEM in SPS, teaching technology to all the grades from kindergarten to eighth grade.

I look forward to getting to know you all!

Milica Milovanovic (She/Her)

Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Nuutinen
Mrs. Nuutinen has gone above and beyond to create lessons that are innovative and fun for her students. Some days her morning welcome routine with her students is like watching a hilarious stand-up comic routine. She's a funny, warm-hearted, smart, talented, highly organized teacher. She is an excellent communicator and so supportive of her students and their parents. She stepped up in such a huge way (often working 12-14 hour days!) when Mrs. Kenzi left to take another job and has made the transition seamless. We appreciate everything she does and we're so grateful she's teaching our kids!!

MOD Pizza Fundraiser
On Tuesday, January 26th we will be having a MOD Pizza Fundraiser! This is an opportunity to support Adams Elementary by ordering take-out or delivery from MOD Pizza! To order, visit MOD Pizza's online order websiteUse promo code "GR172669A" and MOD will generously donate 20% of your meal's price back to Adams Elementary PTA. So grab some pizza and salad for the whole family before joining our Winter Community Meeting and/or any time during their open hours of 10:30 a.m.-10:00 p.m!
