Newly Housed Clients

Jayden

A chef of 35 years, Jayden suffered the loss of his restaurant shortly after the pandemic hit. After investing his life savings into his restaurant, Jayden couldn't hold on to his home and ended up on the streets. For months, he survived jumping from living in cheap motels to sleeping on the streets. Ascencia’s West Hollywood Outreach Team connected with Jayden and brought him into our emergency shelter. 

 

With the support of our Case Management team coupled with Jayden’s

perseverance to rebuild his life, he now lives in a one-bedroom home in West

Hollywood and has taken on a restaurant managerial position. Jayden needs the

following items to rebuild a life anew:

Greg

Greg fell into homelessness after his roommate moved out, leaving him unable to afford his apartment alone on a VONS clerk’s salary. In need of help, his sister who was also a former Ascencia emergency shelter resident, connected him to Ascencia and quickly became a resident of our emergency shelter. 

 

After receiving case management and financial literacy support, Greg now shares a home with his sister and is looking forward to working as a grocery clerk again. Greg is requesting your help with the following items to enjoy the start of his self-sufficiency.

Vance

New to Los Angeles from Minnesota, Vance became homeless when his new job opportunity fell through. For months, Vance survived jumping from living in cheap motels to sleeping on the streets. The trauma of living on the streets was overwhelming. Then Vance connected with Ascencia’s Outreach team. With help from Ascencia, Vance connected to employment resources and mental health programs and is now a warehouse worker safely living in his Hollywood studio home. He is asking for your help with some basic necessities to enjoy the start of his new beginning. The items Vance is requesting are:

Adam

Adam became homeless after a series of unfortunate events. A former addict, Adam was released from prison with nowhere to go. Then he was diagnosed with colon cancer. Determined to turn his life around, he attended a "12 Steps to Recovery" program while living in his car on construction sites when a friend connected Adam to Ascencia.


Adam’s commitment coupled with Ascencia’s ‘whatever it takes’ approach helped him secure permanent housing. He is currently in remission and needs the following to rebuild his life:
