Bicycle Film Festival - Fort Collins
|
The Bicycle Film Festival (BFF) is coming to Fort Collins (virtually). We had originally hoped to host BFF live at the Lyric last fall; however, 2020 had other plans. Instead we have the pleasure of hosting a virtual event that will be available on demand beginning December 30th at 6pm and run through January 10th. The BFF - Fort Collins lineup brings together some of the best films from the BFF Select Shorts collection. We are especially excited to feature a new film featuring and directed by Fort Collins local, Reese Ruland!
A portion of all ticket sales will go back to Bike Fort Collins, further supporting the work we do in the community. Cozy up and enjoy an evening of bicycle cinema at its best!
"If you’ve never attended the BFF we highly recommend fixing that as these films are sure to remind you how amazing and far reaching bike culture can get and always leaves us with fresh new feels. Pairs well with kettle corn, Argentinian merlot, and weighted blankets." - Brave New Wheel
Tickets: $15
Dates: December 30th, 6pm - January 10th, midnight
Run time: 90 min

BFC Puts Paint to Pavement
With your help, Bike Fort Collins is bringing the first "Paint the Pavement" Project to the streets of Fort Collins beginning with the intersection of Canyon Ave., Sherwood St. and Magnolia St. This intersection has been selected first, as it is an important artery in the town’s bicycle infrastructure and because the nature of the 5-point intersection creates confusing navigation for cyclists and motorists alike.
Our first step is to include the community in our planning efforts through virtual community brainstorming sessions. Please contact us at info@bikefortcollins.org to be included in our first session scheduled for mid February. We look forward to keeping you all up to date as we work to put paint to pavement in Fort Collins! READ MORE

Nearly 260 Bikes & Helmets to Students in Need
|
|
Earlier this fall, Bike Fort Collins announced the Wish for Wheels FoCo program, designed to bring a new bike and helmet to every second-grader in each of Poudre School District’s (PSD) six Title 1 schools. In its inaugural year, thanks to the support of the community (many individual donations) and our sponsors, working with PSD's department of Language, Culture & Equity, we're happy to report the program provided a bike to nearly 260 students who didn't have one--providing an outlet and much needed access to exercise for students in this time of remote learning. Intersection / Facility Focus
This month's intersection/facility focus features the intersection of Linden St. and the Poudre Trail. Have you experienced conflict or felt unsafe at this intersection? We invite you to take the following survey as we work to improve the overall safety of our streets and improve overall bicycle infrastructure connectivity. Your voice matters!
|
|
In our November issue, we conducted the same survey and posed the same questions for the Washington Ave and Oak St. intersection. Thank you to those who responded. READ RESULTS SUMMARY

Thank You Fort Collins!
On behalf of all of us at Bike Fort Collins, we can't thank you enough for your Colorado Gives Day donations. These are trying times for all of us and we are humbled by your support in the face of economic uncertainty. With your help were able to exceed our $10,000 goal! We are particularly grateful for the support of Wendy Poppen and her Matching Challenge Gift.
Bike Fort Collins truly could not do the work we do without you. We're optimistic for a good 2021, despite the continued uncertainty as we turn the corner on the New Year. With your support we are able to become a more bicycle friendly community with each passing year, improving bicycle safety and access for all.
