VAPTA NATIONAL STANDARDS LISTENING SESSION
National PTA’s National Standards for Family-School Partnerships have transformed family engagement at all levels of the educational system. PTA leaders like you were an integral part of the adoption of the standards and now we invite you to engage in this work again.

Since the last revision of the standards, we have seen changes that call upon PTA to invest in their relevance and impact – and we’re inviting you to be a part of this legacy!

How have you used the Standards to enhance family engagement in your community? What do you want the future of family engagement to look like?

We are looking for a diverse group of participants of all ethnic backgrounds and family dynamics to include, past and present School of Excellence honorees, Disability and English Language Learners representatives. Participants should represent our school communities - even if you have to invite them to participate - and do not have to be PTA members. Why? Because they may help us learn why they are not part of PTA.

Join us for a 60-minute focus group to share your thoughts and opinions about family engagement, as well as your experience using the National Standards for Family School Partnerships.
TIME TO FILE YOUR TAXES FOR COMPLIANCE
A significant part of running an effective nonprofit is maintaining effective financial management—and a major aspect of financial management is filing your annual nonprofit tax return.

Since the Taxpayer First Act was passed in 2019, all organizations are required to file their 990s electronically rather than send in a physical copy. Fortunately, the process is simple.

Here, we’ll cover the fundamentals of your Form 990, why it’s so important, and how to file your annual return with ease.

Essential Tech for Better Family School Communication
The Center for Family Engagement has released a toolkit to help PTAs understand the landscape of communication systems and how they can use them to facilitate meaningful interaction between home and school. The toolkit, which includes a report, videos, a discussion guide and a mapping tool, is a go-to resource that will position state and district PTAs to enhance family engagement practices in their communities!
