As we approach Thanksgiving, I want to express my gratitude to each of you for the flexibility and patience you have shown Azle ISD during such a challenging time.
We are planning to continue to offer in-person instruction when we return from the Thanksgiving break. The health and well-being of our students, staff, and all of Azle ISD has always been a priority, and it will continue to be a key factor in all of our decisions. As COVID case numbers continue to rise in Azle ISD, Tarrant & Parker County, the DFW area, and across the State, the District will continue to follow CDC and local health department guidelines regarding isolation, quarantine, and contact tracing. Any closure would be in consultation with and/or order from government officials and could range from closing an individual classroom, multiple classrooms, an individual school, or even the entire school district. Please know that in the unfortunate event this should happen, the change will be to remote learning for those impacted. We would like to remind you that it is important for students in all grade levels to continue to bring their district-issued technology devices home daily.
All of us are taking this in stride and responding accordingly with the best information we have at the time. This year has been one of change and flexibility, and I am extremely thankful for how our district has been able to serve the needs of our students and community, in-person or remotely.
If you have not yet completed the parent survey for input regarding the 2021-2022 academic calendar, please be sure to do so. The survey has been extended through the Thanksgiving break.
Although this upcoming Thanksgiving will probably look much differently for many of you, I hope each of you are able to relax and enjoy some good food.
Sincerely,
Todd Smith
Superintendent – Azle ISD
