2023 LEGISLATIVE SESSION: WEEK 4
Senator Jason Brodeur
At the end of the 4th week of the 2023 Regular Legislative Session both chambers continued to move legislation. On Monday, March 27th, SB 1634 Child Welfare, by Senator Jason Brodeur , (R- Lake Mary) passed unanimously out of the Senate Committee on Children, Families, and Elder Affairs. There was also continued movement on HB 121 Florida Kidcare Program Eligibility, by Representative Robin Bartleman, (D- Weston) which passed unanimously out of its last committee stop, the House Health & Human Services Committee on Thursday, March 30th. On Friday, March 31st, HB 223 Public School Student Progression for Students with Disabilities, by Representative Robin Bartleman, (D- Weston) passed unanimously out of its final committee stop, the House Education & Employment Committee. Both bills will now head to the House floor.

Additionally, HB 19 Individual Education Plans, by Representative Allison Tant, (D- Tallahassee) passed out of the House and its companion bill SB 636 Individual Education Plans, by Senator Corey Simon, (R- Tallahassee) passed out of the Senate Committee on Judiciary on March 29th, and now awaits its final committee. Furthermore, HB 7039 Student Outcomes, by Education Quality Subcommittee also passed out of the House and is awaiting action by the Senate.
