A Message from Your PTSA President, Melanie Peacock

This year has been unusual to say the least, but we are determined to make lemonade
out of lemons! At this point in the year, our PTSA has typically hosted or helped with
several large events. COVID-19 has changed our plans greatly, but as a PTSA our mission
has not changed at all – to provide education enriching activities and events for students while supporting our amazing faculty and staff.

King Cake Fundraiser

It’s not even Thanksgiving, but King Cake season is coming!! The CMM PTSA is partnering again with Lilah’s and selling king cakes – our only scheduled fundraiser for
the PTSA so far this year.

Order forms will go home before Christmas break and will also be available on our website. Order due date is January 19th with king cake delivery on January 26th. These king cakes are absolutely delicious so please plan to participate in this fundraiser. Our PTSA dollars are tight this year so your support of this fundraiser will be a critical part of funding events for our students and teachers.

Given the craziness that 2020 has dished out, we can all use a sweet treat!
Thanks & Joy
Dear CMM parents,

We are all fully aware of how different this school year looks. With that in mind, we are adapting some PTSA events to reflect the 2020 school year. Teacher Appreciation Week is normally a large scale week-long event in March. We are still hoping to be able to do something as a week-long event in the spring, however, we would like to show some appreciation to our teachers a little earlier in this school year!

Our faculty and staff at CMM have always been a step above the rest. This year, they have taken that to a whole other level with their constant adaption and strength. Through our "thanks & joy" campaign we hope to bring a little dose of teacher appreciation week to the holiday season by showering them on Fridays in November and December!

The money collected now will be used to supplement gifts and lunches for our staff & faculty every Friday over the 2nd 9 weeks. Any funds remaining will be put toward event plans in the spring. Please give as you are able!

You may give two (2) different ways.

1.     Send cash or checks made payable to CMM PTSA to the school office in an envelope labeled “THANKS & JOY”.
2.   Go to local level events through the following link. To give online click “purchase here”. https://www.locallevelevents.com/events/details/10214

We thank you in advance for supporting our teachers through this Thanks & Joy campaign! Please contact us if you have any questions.

Friday, November 6 was National Nacho Day so we did a "Nacho Average Quaran-Teacher" theme for the week's "Thanks & Joy" treat.
We served breakfast (Chick-fil-A chicken biscuits) and nacho themed mid-day snacks. The teachers all received a little inspirational notebook, too. It was too fun!
A Message from Principal Robin DeBusk

Wow!!! These have definitely been a wild first few months.

Teacher Treat

Teachers were treated to fun Boo Boxes full of snacks for Halloween. Lindsey Lewis of The Festive Favor
provided a sweet message for our hardworking faculty and staff. And a team of moms were on hand
Friday to personally deliver and thank our “Spook”-tacular teachers. Special thank you to all the members of the Teacher Treat committee who donated snacks and their time. We look forward to treating our CMM faculty and staff again at Christmas.

Hospitality Committee Hosts Back to School Breakfast

The CMM PTSA Hospitality Committee didn’t let COVID-19 keep them from welcoming our faculty and staff back to school on August 21st . The annual breakfast looked a little different this year – no serving buffet style and eating together before training in the
Library due to COVID restrictions. This committee rolled with it, though under the leadership of Committee Chairs Rebecca Bogan, Nancy Lockey and Sarah Langham!
Mrs. Strother opened her Home Living Room to the committee where they masked and gloved up; used the ovens to keep food warm and put together 100 “To Go” boxes for teachers and staff. We appreciate our amazing staff so much and enjoyed welcoming them back to school during a truly challenging time. Many thanks to the committee members who prepared and purchased items as well as volunteers who assembled the to go boxes! The Hospitality Committee will host a Mardi Gras luncheon on February 10th and an end of school luncheon on May 17th.
