'Inside the Actor's Process: Hope'
The Grossmont College Theatre Arts production of "Inside the Actor's Process: Hope" will be available for free streaming through June.

An actor’s attitude can make a major difference in nailing that audition or flopping on your face. Join this troupe of traveling thespians as they explore a plethora of pieces highlighting the pleasure and pain experienced as actors go through their process. Directed by Ben Cole, "Inside the Actor’s Process: Hope" is a journey exploring the aspirations and frustrations of actors, acting, auditioning, and receiving applause as they strive to change the lives of audiences and find fulfillment in their own creative expression.

Civic engagement workshops
at Cuyamaca College
Cuyamaca College is offering a pair of free workshops open to the public on the topics of civic action and engagements. Both will be led by Heather Belk, director of Associated Students Administration at UC San Diego:

  • May 6, 4-5 p.m. Civic Action and Reflection: Civic action and reflection are key to developing one's civic engagement identity. Student leaders from UC San Diego's Office of External Affairs and CALPIRG will share examples of civically focused actions they have participated in and open space for reflection how these actions benefit individuals or communities. Registration required.

  • May 20, 4-5 p.m. The things we do out of personal interest often also translate into being civically engaged. Civic engagement means promoting quality of life in a community through both political and non-political processes. Workshop participants will consider their own hobbies, majors and organizational involvement to identify areas of community impact from the things they are already studying or spending time one. Registration required.

Families will have the opportunity to join Grossmont College virtually and learn about the onboarding process, counseling services, financial aid and the Grossmont/Cuyamaca College Promise.
