Week 1 Highlights:

July 10th, 10:00 AM EDT:

Opening/The Process of Initiation - Swami Ritavan Bharati and Adhikari Bhoi
The process of initiation is one of rebirth, a new beginning. There are two words that are commonly used: Shiksha and Deeksha, Education and Initiation. From childhood we are trained to see, examine and verify things in the external world, but initiation, or receiving a mantra, is a step for seeing and looking within.

Swami Ritavan will open the virtual workshop and give his blessings and instructions to the participants. Afterwards, Adhikari ji will discuss the aspects and the process of mantra initiation and the importance of one’s personal mantra.
Swami Ritavan, MS, E-RYT-500, Ashram Pramukha and Spiritual Guide: has lived a life dedicated to serving Swami Rama and Swami Veda Bharati since 1970. After having been initiated at the age of 20, he transited through all the three Ashrams of Vedic life (Brahmacharya, Grihastha, and Vanaprastha) under the direct guidance of Swami Rama and Swami Veda Bharati. He was then initiated into Sanyasa in 2007. He has guided numerous silence and meditation retreats throughout the world and has been instrumental in guiding the International HYT-TTP. He is also a Mantra Initiator within the Tradition of the Himalayan Masters.

Adhikari Bhoi: had a long-time yearning to know more about the Himalayan Masters. Being well versed in many scriptures like the Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, and Srimad Bhagavad, he was always committed to sharing the ancient teachings and is one of the most dedicated teachers at SRSG. He is a mantra initiator in the Himalayan Tradition, and a member of the AHYMSIN Spiritual Committee and the AHYMSIN Executive Committee.

July 12, 8:30 PM EDT

The Six Treasures: Shama, Dama, Uparati, Titiksha, Shraddha, Samadhana - Carol & Charles Crenshaw
In this session, Charles and Carol will be addressing the six treasures. The qualities of an adhikarin, the prepared student on the path. We will discuss a few preparations for this and go over some of the more frequent obstacles to our efforts all taken from Vedantic and Tantric (Sri Vidya) sources.
Carol Crenshaw, M.S., Ed.M., E-RYT 500, C-IAYT Certified Therapist, received her Master's in Eastern Studies/Comparative Psychology/Holistic Health. She served as a yoga therapist and biofeedback trainer in the Combined Therapy Program at the Himalayan Institute Headquarters in Pennsylvania, USA, and the Center for Holistic Medicine in NYC. Carol has taught yoga and meditation for over 30 years, has trained yoga teachers since the 1980s, and is an initiator in the Himalayan Tradition.
Carol is a Certified Clinical EFT Practitioner, co-author of EFT For Meditation, contributing author to Clinical EFT Handbook, Consulting Hypnotist and Certified Hypnosis Instructor, and Certified NLP Practitioner. She presently teaches at Inner Peace Yoga Center in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, and worldwide.

Charles B Crenshaw Jr., M.S., E-RYT 500, C-IAYT Yoga Therapist: Charles is a graduate of the Eastern Studies Program created by Swami Rama presented in an ashram (gurukulum) setting. He was trained directly by Swami Rama and Swami Veda Bharati among other notables in our Himalayan Tradition. He is the Author of Pathless Path: God, Grace, Guru, and co-author of EFT for Meditation.

July 15th, 8:30 PM EDT:

The Four Right Attitudes - John Sellinger
The Sanskrit word chitta-prasadanam can be literally translated as “making the mind clear, joyful and serene”. John will discuss how and why chitta-prasadanam is given an important significance in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Outlining the cultivation of four key sentiments which, once mastered, naturally result in the mind of the yoga sadhaka becoming clear, joyful and serene, also including the great commentator Vyasa explained how the practice of chitta-prasadanam can become a stepping stone towards samadhi.
John Sellinger, BMEDRAD NuclMed, E-RYT-500, YACEP: John began his practice of yoga as a child. While traveling the world with his family from the age of one-year, yoga meditation and philosophy became a unifying force for them. In his late teens, he began a regular practice of meditation, which had a great impact on his life as a student in the medical field. From 2010 until recently, he lived in Rishikesh, India, in the ashram of his family’s spiritual guide, Swami Veda Bharati. He began teaching in India and continues to share the wisdom of the Himalayan Tradition with students in many countries. John serves as an editor in Himalayan Yoga Publications Trust.
July 16th, 10:00 AM EDT:

Purusha Pariksha - Personality and Initiation - Swami Radha Bharati
Purusha Pariksha is the detailed science of personality types. Everything about our being constitutes our personalities as seen by the Great Teachers. The important point for our spiritual interest is that they also recognized there are specific mantras for each type of personality. We will examine various aspects of this topic.
Swami Ma Radha Bharati: A disciple of Swami Rama of the Himalayas since 1970, Swami Ma Radha Bharati was initiated into Sanyasa from Swami Veda in 2007. She joined the faculty at SRSG in India when it opened in 2003 and later served as Academic Director there for ten years. She is one of the Initiators in the Himalayan Tradition and a member of the AHYMSIN spiritual committee, as well as one of the international teaching faculty.

Currently, she serves through The Meditation Center in the USA with online guided meditations and silence retreats that reach initiates in AHYMSIN centers worldwide, in addition to other programming in the US. Formerly, she lectured on philosophy and ethics at the University of Hawaii and also colleges in Minnesota.
