An Update from the KCC
To: KCC Patrons
From: Jeremy Paul, Director
Date: September 16, 2021

Greetings,

We hope that you are all enjoying the start of another school year.

We wanted to provide you with our policy regarding COVID-19 for the coming months. Specifically, there have been inquiries about what being a close contact at school means for those children participating in programs and activities outside of school. These activities include sports, enrichment classes, group meetings, and other afterschool programs.

If you are notified that your child(ren) has been in close contact at school or otherwise, with someone who has COVID-19 AND your child(ren) is asymptomatic the Town will be adhering to the following guidelines:

  • If your child(ren) IS FULLY VACCINATED they DO NOT need to quarantine from activities.

  • If your child(ren) HAD A PREVIOUS POSITIVE COVID-19 test result between 14 and 90 days ago, they DO NOT need to quarantine from activities.

  • If your child(ren) is NOT VACCINATED, and doesn’t fall under the first two points, they must quarantine from activities for 10 days from the point of the close contact. Per CDC recommendations, the quarantine may be reduced to 7 days, if a test is conducted on or after the fifth day and is negative.

These guidelines do not apply to those students attending the SAFE Afterschool program.  If a student is allowed to remain in the classroom and attend school, then they are able to attend the SAFE Afterschool program.

As a reminder, please do not send your child to a sports, enrichment, or group activity if they have symptoms of COVID-19 symptoms.
