A Message from the Executive Director
April is a time to celebrate spring showers and blooming flowers, and a time to recognize Uplift's amazing volunteers and the many ways they make our work possible.

Thank you to our Board of Directors, who help guide Uplift's path and whose passion for our work shines through in everything they do.

Thank you to our Young Professionals Board, who enthusiastically spread the word about Uplift's mission throughout Philadelphia, always finding creative ways to do so.

Thank you for our Family Services volunteers, who spend quality time with Uplift's children and caregivers, helping to guide them to a place of peace.

Thank you to our event volunteers, always there with a smile, ensuring that everything comes off without a hitch and making us look good!

And thank y ou to you. Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to care about Uplift's work, to read about what we are doing for Philadelphia's grieving children and families, and for supporting our mission. You make everything possible.

With sincere thanks,
A Night for Families and Art
Earlier this month, Uplift celebrated its annual Art Night at our East Falls location. Art Night brings together Uplift children and caregiver participants, as well as staff and volunteers, for an evening of grief expression through creativity. This year’s project saw the pairing of embossed foil designs with colorful drawings that together celebrated connection and memorial. We are so grateful to everyone who took time to be with us and share their talents!
The Rise in Needed Post-Crisis Support
Philadelphia was recently named one of the most dangerous cities in the nation. As the city’s fatalities continue to rise, so too will the need for Uplift’s Post-Crisis Support Services in schools and community groups.

Uplift began receiving requests to offer Post-Crisis Support Services four years ago and the program has grown to include immediate post-crisis intervention, coping groups and self-care groups, support groups for those requiring ongoing support, and phone or email consultations. Uplift’s services provide stability, comfort, and necessary resources.

Become an Uplift Volunteer!
Each week, Uplift hosts nearly 20 Family Services support groups for children and caregivers in 4 locations throughout Philadelphia. We simply could not make all of those groups happen without dedicated volunteers who assist with their time, talents, and expertise.

We're heartened when we read comments like this, from a recent volunteer training evaluation: "When people come to group, we see the tip of the iceberg of what grieving children are dealing with. What we don’t always see is the 90% of the iceberg under the water. Today's training allowed me to see the whole picture of what these kids deal with daily."

We're always looking for compassionate and caring individuals who are interested in making a difference in the lives of grieving children and families. If you're interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities with Uplift's Family Services groups, please   contact us .

Golf Is Coming!
Golf is coming! Have you signed up for Uplift's 18th Annual Golf Invitational? There are plenty of ways to be a part of this fun event - serve as a sponsor, play as part of a foursome (or threesome or twosome or individually), or just join us for dinner. Held once again at the beautiful White Manor Country Club, we hope to see you June 3rd!
Your Support Uplifts Those We Serve
“I wish that everyone who lost someone because of gun violence finds justice, and I hope everyone who lost someone because of sickness finds peace. I just hope we all find happy.”

These words, spoken by a 6th grader for their fellow in-school grief group participants, show the impact your support is having on the children Uplift works with. Children learn to open up, share, and connect. Thanks to your support.

Thank You.  Please give today  to ensure Uplift can continue to serve Philadelphia’s grieving children and families.
