When asked for "Referring Organization" - please choose
"Morris Park District Management Association"
Attention Morris Park parents!
If you and your children enjoyed one of the many community activities MPBID organized, we would appreciate you indicating "Morris Park District Management Association" as Referring Organization, at the time your child receives the COVID-19 vaccine.
COVID 19 Vaccines for Children 5+ are now available. Vaccination sites at schools can be found on the DOE website. You can also find a full list of pediatric vaccination locations on nyc.gov/vaccinefinder.
The Pfizer vaccine is the only FDA/CDC vaccine now approved and available for children 5-11 years old in NYC! The vaccine went through rigorous research, trials, and evaluation and is safe, free, and easily accessible in NYC. The Pfizer vaccine is 2 doses, given 21 days apart. Even if a child (or their parent) had COVID-19, they should still get the vaccine to protect them against infection, severe illness, or death from COVID-19. For more information about vaccines and children, families can go to nyc.gov/covidvaccine and see this FAQ. Parents or guardians can call 212-COVID19 with questions about the vaccine. Please talk with your health care provider with concerns or questions specific to your own medical situation.
#Cap The Bronx, New Infrastructure Bill
On November 9, 2021 the MPBD joined elected representatives and advocates in calling for funding of the #CapTheCrossBronx Expressway initiative, within the infrastructure bill recently passed by the US Congress. We thank Senator Chuck SchumerRep. Ritchie Torres and Assemblywoman Hon. Karines Reyes, RN for calling to #CapTheCrossBronx in the context of the necessary infrastructure improvements to the Bronx. Cap the Cross Bronx Expressway is an initiative that calls for the reutilization and redesigning of infrastructure to better serve the Bronx community, by covering with green spaces the below-grade sections of the highway, in order to combat . The Bronx contains some of the highest asthma rates seen across the city. #Cap the Bronx seeks to alleviate this public health & environmental burden to help the Bronx breathe cleaner air! We are particularly grateful to Loving the Bronx Nilka Martell - the tireless voice for environmental justice in the #Bronx that started this campaign. We are also grateful to Loving the Bronx for making possible the MPBID fresh produce series of 31 events conducted between October 2020 and June 2021!
