Knowing we are One, we celebrate peace,
compassion, and equality for all.
Mission:
We empower people to live thriving spiritual lives.
From the Minister

Dear Unity Friends,

Every Friday, at 12pm CT, you are invited to join me on FB Live for “Put A Myrtle On It!” - The place to be for a little Myrtle, a little prayer, and a little song!

This Friday, December 11th,“Put A Myrtle On It!” will be a Special Remembrance Service.

Many of you know that traditionally we offer a Remembrance Service during the Holiday Season to honor those who have made their transition and to show our gratitude for their presence in our lives.

This year it will be different, of course, because we’re doing it online. I’m looking forward to this year’s service because I’ll be sharing some of Myrtle Fillmore’s specific teachings on the laws of life and death. And… I’ll be doing a guided meditation just for this special topic.

And so, whether you’re able to join me live stream or view it later on our YouTube Channel, I hope you’ll be able to experience this Special Remembrance Service because it can be helpful and healing—especially for those who’ve lost a loved one—when it is needed most.

In Love and Unity,
Rev. Anne Tabor

“The Greatest of These Is Love”
Sunday, December 13, 2020
11am, Rev. Anne Tabor
*Facebook Live

Unity Co-Founder, Charles Fillmore wrote, “Love is the greatest harmonizer and healer.” In truth, Love is the greatest power in the Universe! As this holiday season continues to unfold—and we adapt to how different it is from any other we’ve experienced in our lifetime—we want to remember that the greatest gift we have to share is Love. Join Rev. Anne for our third week of Advent as we take a closer look at the Power of Love and how it infuses the world and everyone in it. Scripture tells us that faith, hope, and love abide… but the greatest of these is Love.

Advent Week 4: JOY
“Sweet, Beautiful, Soul Saving Joy”
Sunday, December 20, 2020
11am, Rev. Anne Tabor
*Facebook Live

As Christmas Day draws near, lyrics in the great gospel song titled “Joy” reminds us of this simple Truth: “Joy, joy, God’s great joy. Joy, joy, down in my soul. Sweet, beautiful, soul saving joy. Joy, joy in my soul!”

These are powerful and inspiring words. But have you ever noticed there are times when feeling joyous isn’t so easy? In fact, sometimes it seems impossible. Join Rev. Anne for our fourth week of Advent as she shares with us how to experience joy even in tough times.

YFM Sunday, December 13, 2020
10am via ZOOM
We invite all children to join us this Sunday, December 13th, at 10am, on Zoom. Our lesson will be "Celebrating Love and Light." We will look at four holiday traditions that are celebrated this time of year from around the world. There is one thing they all have in common and that is the Light of the season.

We have been making some changes to our class, so come see what is new! This is a great opportunity for our children to stay connected, as well as receive the message from our lessons.

For more information, please contact Janette Jordan, YFM Director, at
SpiritGroups Fall 2020
SpiritGroups continue our commitment to service through the pandemic with the Tarrant Area Foodbank’s distribution at AT&T Stadium. We worked from 7am-12noon. The need was great, with 10 lines for as far as we could see.

We also converted our Little Libraries into food pantries for the Unity neighborhood, and will continue that through January.

As we shared earlier, members of SpiritGroups also cleaned up the children's playground on our campus at 3525 S. Bowen Road.
2020 Virtual Gift Drive

During the majority of this year, organizations of many types have learned to function in different ways. This is true of SafeHaven of Tarrant County, one of the recipients of a tithe by Unity of Arlington for October. This year SafeHaven's annual holiday gift drive is going virtual. They need help more than ever before to make sure the families they serve have plenty of gifts available to make the holidays merry and bright! Since Unity of Arlington will not be doing our normal "Bear for Every Chair," you may be interested in assisting SafeHaven.

Shopping for families at SafeHaven is easier than ever. They have created an Amazon Wish List full of gifts their clients have indicated they would love to receive. Simply purchase items from the list, and they are shipped straight to SafeHaven! Once the gifts are received a store is created where moms and kids can shop (for free, of course!) for their family members. Please click the image below to be taken directly to SafeHaven's Amazon Wish List link:

A Reminder of Ways to Help Protect Yourself and Others

The news that coronavirus infections continue to rise at an alarming rate reminds us that we need to be vigilant in our personal safety actions.

Along with the strong recommendation from the CDC that you get a flu shot, here again are the guidelines:

  • Wear a mask, and wear it properly, with both nose and mouth covered..
  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Protect coughs by coughing and sneezing into your elbow and/or a tissue.
  • Frequently clean surfaces that are often touched, especially doorknobs, door frames, telephones, keyboards, and bathroom areas.
  • Use hand sanitizer.
  • Stay home if you are not feeling well.

Reverend Anne Tabor, M.Div., is available by appointment for spiritual counseling sessions at Unity of Arlington in a safe and supportive environment. As an ordained Unity minister, Rev. Anne, offers spiritual counseling to individuals seeking a deeper under-standing of themselves and their divine power within to solve life's challenges. Spiritual counseling can help if there is a need for inspiration, crisis support, or healing in any area of your life. Prayer and meditation are an integral part of Unity's spiritual principles, and an essential practice in realizing the answers we seek. We believe in the transformative power of affirmative prayer. You are a unique expression of God. Spiritual counseling will remind you of that!

Spiritual counseling is offered on a love offering basis. While no specific fee is expected or suggested, we do invite each person to leave a love offering. For more details, please call the church office 817-467-5151.

UNITY'S FIVE BASIC PRINCIPLES

Principle #1:
There is only one Presence and one Power in the Universe and in my life, God the Good.

Principle #2:
Human beings have a spark of divinity within them, the Christ spirit within.
Their essence is of God, and therefore they are also inherently good.

Principle #3:
Human beings create their experiences by the activity of their thinking.
Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought.

Principle #4:
Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with God Mind and therefore brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity, and everything good.

Principle #5:
Knowing and understanding the laws of life, also called Truth, are not enough.
A person must live the truth he or she knows.
CORE VALUES
Spirit-Led:
Centered in the awareness of God's presence, we turn within for divine guidance in
all we do.

Love:
Love is our True Nature. We express the harmonizing power of love to see good everywhere and in everybody. Love binds together the whole human family.

Diversity:
We believe that all people are created with sacred worth. In a spirit of Unity, we embrace each person as an expression of God grounded in truth and love.

Connection:
We live, love, and laugh from our Oneness with God. We honor our inter-connectedness with each other, with all life, and the earth.

Abundance:
God is our Infinite Source of Good. We gratefully demonstrate prosperity in all areas
of our lives. We wisely use our wealth of resources to serve our spiritual community and the world.

Service:
We cultivate enlightened leadership by practicing the teachings of Jesus the Christ through sacred service. It is a blessing to serve locally and globally.

Integrity:
We consciously choose to practice living our Core Values and Unity Principles rather than simply professing them. We choose to communicate from the heart with authenticity and deliver on our commitments with reliability.
