The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University is pleased to announce that Professor Shelby Green has been appointed as co-counsel of the Land Use Law Center. The Land Use Law Center (“LULC”), established in 1993 by Distinguished Professor of Law Emeritus John Nolon, was one of the first law-school based institutes in the nation whose mission was to engage communities in the movement toward more economically, equitably, and environmentally viable towns and cities – to find new ways to create and foster sustainable communities. The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University has received a generous five-year grant to name its Investor Rights Clinic after RealFi Financial LLC, a leading, technology-driven, alternative investment management firm. The newly named RealFi Funding Investor Rights Clinic is recognized across the country as a leader in arbitration and securities dispute resolution, and is considered one of most unique experiential learning opportunities at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law. READ MORE >

The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University mock trial team successfully competed at the All Star Bracket Challenge Mock Trial Competition on October 2nd and 3rd, advancing through the Regional Rounds to the National Sweet 16 Championship, which will be held in November. The Haub Law team consists of four students: Mattison Stewart (3L), Regina Rubino (3L), Kathryn Facelle (2L), and Michael McNally (2L) and are led by their dedicated coaches, AJ Muller and Michael Luterzo and accompanied by their Trial Technician, Angelo Spedafino (3L). Notably, Mattison Stewart was awarded a “Best Advocate Award” during the Regional Rounds of the Competition. READ MORE >

Caesar Lopez '12 is our featured October Haub Alumni of the Month. Caesar is the Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel of Orlando City Soccer Club of Major League Soccer and Orlando Pride of the National Women’s Soccer League. As an alumnus, Caesar remains very involved with Haub Law. Although he is based in Florida, he is intimately involved in the Alumni Board and willing to chat with any prospective students or current students about their careers. A regular donor to the law school, giving back is very important to him. “Simply, I like to pay if forward and I believe we all have a duty to help the next generation of students make a difference.”

In the NYSBA Environmental and Energy Law Section publication, The New York Environmental Lawyer (volume 41, no. 1, page 19), a profile was published on 1993 alumna Marla E. Wieder (authored by Aaron Gershonowitz). This issue of the New York Environmental Lawyer also includes articles by alumni, James L. Simpson (LLM 2007) - Outside the EPA Update and John Louis Parker '96 - 2021 Legislative Forum Report.

Christopher Fisher, Esq. ‘94, managing partner at Cuddy & Feder, was a panelist at the Westchester County Association’s 2021 Real Estate Summit which brought together government officials, business leaders and real estate developers for an important discussion on sustainability, technology, and connectivity in commercial and residential real estate.

Attention Faculty: if you are working on a creative project to be developed into a publishable book manuscript or a performance - you are encouraged to apply for this award by November 12.
