College Council and staff would like to thank regulated members for their commitment to self-regulation through two recent activities! On September 18, two milestones were reached by the College.
Fall already??!
We have all said it...2020 has been anything but normal! but it's ours to shape in any way we can.

As we move through the seasons, it's important to remember what we do have control over and invest in it. Whether that be what time you get up in the morning, how many patients you see in a day or what you have for dinner, in such times of continued chaos and uncertainty, we must all ensure that we take care of ourselves. Without that, the people and things (think pets, if you're lucky enough) that depend on us, are not getting our full self.

It is not easy, and we often forget, but please take time to care for yourself in the moment, tonight or next week. We are in this together and someone is there for you to reach out to in those times. If you are uncertain as to who you can talk to, please contact us at the College and we can provide you some resources.

Council and staff hope that this issue of bytes continues to find everyone well and safe.

IPC Project Update

The College is leading the development of joint infection prevention and control guidelines in cooperation with other oral health regulators.
Exam Collaboration

In an effort to set a national standard for the profession of denturism, the College is transitioning to a national platform for the registration exam.

Each issue, in this column, the College will discuss an aspect of practice that is impacting the membership. If there are aspects of practice that you would like discussed, please let us know.

This month, it is about understanding your responsibilities when you terminate or suspend an employee.
Continuing Competence Program Update
The Continuing Competence Program (CCP) is legislated to exist to maintain the competence of and enhance the provision of professional services by regulated members.

The College is working to modernize the program within the constructs of the current laws.
Alberta Denturist Order of Merit

The deadline for nominations for this award has been extended until October 31, 2020.
