The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Los Angeles-Las Vegas Section, will present, "A Day of Celebration in Honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.," online on Zoom.
This event celebrates Dr. King—the man, the minister, and the humanitarian. Come and join us to celebrate this auspicious day, and enjoy the discussion among African American and other minorities in aerospace / STEM fields, and possible some readings of Dr. King's words.

An accomplished screenwriter and director as well, Alan indulges in his passion for space by using cutting edge game technology to visualize and explore the planets.

Michelle Evans is the founder and president of Mach 25 Media (www.Mach25Media.com) and is a writer, photographer, and communications specialist in aerospace. She has written the bestselling book “The X-15 Rocket Plane, Flying the First Wings into Space” which was published by the University of Nebraska Press as part of their “Outward Odyssey, People's History of Spaceflight” series.
Michelle's background in aerospace engineering includes serving in the US Air Force working on missile systems, and later in private industry accomplishing environmental testing for systems used in airliners and spacecraft. Her current work with Mach 25 Media provides education and display services for astronaut appearances and other space-related events at government facilities, science centers, schools, and other venues across the country and overseas.
Michelle is a Distinguished Lecturer with the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and her book on the X-15 was a finalist for the Eugene M. Emme Award for Astronautical Literature. Michelle received the Diverse Community Leader Award from Orange County Human Relations, and was recognized as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Orange County. She has appeared in numerous publications, including Air & Space Smithsonian, Ad Astra, Orange County Register, Los Angeles Times, and New York Times. Michelle was also a technical consultant on the Neil Armstrong biopic “First Man.”

Pastor Marlin J. Ivy is a 17 year resident of Las Vegas Nevada and is the pastor of Kinship Community Church. Pastor Ivy is an ordained Elder through the largest African American Pentecostal  organization in the world, the Church of God in Christ. Ivy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications Studies and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership with a Concentration in Civic Engagement. He is currently pursuing his Doctorial Degree in Theological Studies from Faith International University. Pastor Ivy sits on numerous government and educational boards to include his favorite, Nevada State College School of Education. He is a veteran of the U. S. Air Force having served in the first Gulf War during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Ivy held the rank of Senior Airman and was a Logistics and Public Affairs Specialist while serving as an Honor Guard.

Tyrone Jacobs, Jr., 26 years old, was born in Chicago, IL. He is currently based in Los Angeles, CA. Tyrone strives to become the best speaker, engineer, leader, man, and person that he can be. Dr. Kristeen Pareja-Navarro is originally from Los Baņos Laguna, Philippines. She emigrated to the U.S. in 2001 atthe age of 15 and attended Richmond High School in California. She then earned her BS Degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UC Davis and her PhD in Pharmacology from Cornell University. Prior to attending graduate school, she worked in several research labs including Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Novozymes and Touro University. As a graduate student in the Sevier lab, she studied chaperone proteins involved in oxidative stress signaling. She joined the Tracy lab in December 2019 where she is currently investigating the role of toxic tau oligomers in Alzheimer's disease-related synapse dysfunction and deterioration.
