Christ Is Our Cornerstone
In Our Prayers: We will now be praying for our St. Peter boards, committees and organizations. This week we will be praying for members of our Ladies Aid.
Devotion of the Week: God's Word was placed into the hands of our second graders by their parents in our worship service last Sunday. Thank you to our St. Peter Men's Club for providing these Bibles for our students. May God bless these students as they grow in their faith through being in God's Word daily. One of the hymns written by Martin Luther (LSB 655) is a wonderful prayer for keeping us steadfast in His Word:
Lord, keep us steadfast in Your Word;
Curb those who by deceit or sword
Would wrest the kingdom from Your Son
And bring to naught all He has done.

Lord Jesus Christ, Your pow'r make known,
For You are Lord of lords alone;
Defend Your holy Church that we
May sing Your praise eternally.

O Comforter of priceless worth,
Send peace and unity on earth;
Support us in our final strife
And lead us out of death to life.
The 2nd graders would like to thank the Men's Club for their new Bibles they received last Sunday. They enjoyed using them this week to look up and highlight their memory verses.
Chapel Offerings: Our first quarter chapel offerings have been supporting God's Helping Hands, our community ministry which supports those in need with food, clothing, and household items. During our first quarter, our students collected $404.29. Our second quarter offerings will be supporting the CAN Council of Saginaw. More information will be given in the near future.

Perfect Church Attendance: Congratulations to Adelia Breternitz, Lucas Hagenow, Landon Sherry and Logan Sherry for their perfect church attendance for the first quarter.
St. Peter Adult Instruction Class: An Adult Information Class will begin on November 1. Those attending will meet Sunday mornings in the multi-purpose room at the church from 8:30–9:15am. This class is for anyone who is interested in taking instructions for joining the church or to review the teachings of the Bible.
Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences
P-S-T Conferences on Thursday, November 12: Our Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences are in a few weeks. Please sign up at the link below to schedule your conference with your child's teacher. Here are some things to keep in mind:
  • All parents need to sign up for conferences.
  • Students in grades 1st-8th grade are invited to attend with parents.
  • We are trying to limit the number of people in the building at one time so we ask that you are on time and leave when your conference is over.
  • In order to make sure everyone stays on time, we will have a tone going off every 15 minutes to signal the end of the conference time.
  • Teachers will be sanitizing the conference area after each visit.
  • Masks should be worn.
  • The Signupgenius link has all of the teachers included so please make sure you schedule your conference with your child's teacher.
  • Please sign up by Friday, November 6.

No School Friday, November 13: We will not have school on Friday, November 13. Please note that this was supposed to be a half day of school, but we will not be having school on this day. Child care will be available.
In the Classroom
Cast Your Vote: This Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, our K-8 students will be hitting the voting booths. Mr. Neumeyer and the 7th-8th graders are organizing a mock presidential election for our students. They will be registering to vote and then casting their ballots in the afternoon.

Interviewing Classmates: The Fifth and Sixth graders practiced writing questions, interviewing a classmate, and writing a paragraph as they learn about possessive nouns, common and proper nouns, and singular and plural nouns.
Batboy & Batgirl: Our three year old preschoolers had fun in class flapping like bats on their fish carpet and modeling their bat headbands!
Update on Changes with Child Care/Toddler Care Dates
Child Care/Toddler Care Date Changes: If you use our child care including toddler care, please note the following date changes that are different from what we had on our 20-21 calendar sent out earlier this year.

  • No child care on Dec. 21-23 (Mon-Fri of Christmas week). This means no child care during our entire Christmas break from Dec. 21-Jan. 1.

SCRIP: The SCRIP Program raises money for St. Peter Lutheran School. SCRIP gift cards are purchased at face value from a list of stores and restaurants you normally frequent (and many more) and a percentage of that purchase comes back to St. Peter. For example, if you purchase a Meijer gift card for $100, you will receive a $100 Meijer gift card and St. Peter will receive 3% of that. Other examples – Macy’s gives back 10%, Red Lobster 8% and Bob Evans 10%. You receive the full value of your gift card purchase and raise money for St. Peter at the same time! Gift cards make great gifts for many different occasions. Call the school office (642.5659) to get more information on the SCRIP Program, to place an order, or to ask about the simple way to order SCRIP cards on line. Orders are sent in on the second Friday of each month and received at the school in approximately one week. If you need a gift in a hurry, the school office keeps a limited supply of $25 gift cards to local stores and restaurants that are available for purchase at any time. Call the school office to see what is available. It is not too early to start thinking of Christmas gifts!
