We are in the process of developing the 2021-22 traditional school calendar. The Board of Education will receive information on the calendar along with the community feedback to take into consideration. Medical Update Forms

If you have not returned your child’s Medical Update Form to their school, please do so as soon as possible.
New Career and College Promise (CCP) Resources 
 
The Joint Advisory Committee is excited to announce the release of new CCP advising resources for Students and School Personnel.  
  
These resources are intended for North Carolina students and school personnel to promote and support the success of students interested in taking dual enrollment courses through the CCP program.  
 
These resources are offered by the Joint Advisory Committee, which is comprised of representatives from the NC Department of Public Instruction, the NC Community College System, the University of North Carolina System, and the NC Independent Colleges and Universities.

Finish the FAFSA! Planning to attend a 2 or 4 year college, don’t miss out on all the NC and Federal Grants for college. College financial aid deadlines vary so Finish the FAFSA today. For assistance, start with your school counselor or visit Craven Community College website for a virtual appointment with a financial aid expert.

CIAA Tournament Education Day- Meet College Admissions Reps!

On Feb. 23-24, attendees will be able to virtually meet with college recruiters from Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia to learn tips to prepare for college as well as get the inside track on the collegiate experience. Students register HERE 
College y Consejos

College y Consejos is partnering with MyFutureNC's First in FAFSA campaign to offer free, virtual FAFSA assistance to any Latinx student in NC. 
 
Details are as follows:
· Appointments available at bit.ly/cycFAFSA
· Appointments are available Sundays-Thursdays, February
21 – March 7.
· Evening and Sunday appointments can be in Spanish or English.
· Weekday appointments are in English only.
· Appointments are available for students, parents/caregivers, and counselors.
· Students do not have to be associated with our organization to get help.
· Counselors who may be working with a student in person or via Zoom, or counselors who have questions about FAFSA completion with immigrant families, can sign up for appointments.

College y Consejos offers free, virtual college advising to 11th and 12th-grade Latinx students across North Carolina. We center comunidad y cultura in our advising, and work with students regardless of immigration status.

Spring Break Driver’s Education Class 
An All-County Spring Break Driver’s Education class will be offered March 29 - April 12, 2021 virtually from 5pm-7pm.   
 
Students must be at least 14 years, 6 months by the first day of class in order to participate. A fee of $45 is required for the class, but a fee waiver is available. The Driver’s Education fee can be paid at any high school and a receipt or fee waiver form is required for the class.
