Fall is just around the corner, and at least some of us are hoping for cooler and wetter weather!

As you continue to plan your fall meetings, please feel free to reach out to NACD leadership with any questions or comments. The officer team and Pacific Region leadership would welcome any opportunities to meet with district officials in your home state!

SUBMIT YOUR BREAKOUT SESSION PROPOSALS!

NACD is still soliciting applications for breakout sessions for the 2021 Annual Meeting, which is currently being planned as an in-person meeting. Applications must be submitted by Friday, Sept. 25, 2020.

This year, NACD is seeking proposals that fit within five themes:
  1. District Operations and Partnerships
  2. Natural Resources Policy and Protection
  3. Stewardship and Education
  4. Communications and Outreach; and
  5. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Conservation

NACD's recent urban and community conservation webinar featured Tualatin Soil and Water Conservation District of Oregon!

District staff discussed their outreach journey, from focusing primarily on rural Washington County, through passing a tax levy in 2016, and increasing capacity to reach urban residents of Washington County.

Now the district leverages several partnerships with local nonprofits, schools and communities of color to implement conservation on the ground. Hear about their several successful outreach programs via social media, YouTube how-to videos, in-person and online education events, and many more.

See all past Urban and Community webinars online for more great examples of urban and community conservation!
PACIFIC REGION MEMBER CORNER
Wade Troutman, seen here during his induction to the NACD Hall of Distinction in 2019, is known for his extensive contributions to NACD nationally and within the Pacific Region.

On Sept. 7, Wade lost his house and most of his possessions in the Pearl Hill Fire.

Please consider supporting Wade and his family as they work to rebuild all that was lost. Thank you to everyone from across the region and the nation who have already supported the family's recovery efforts.
What motivates you to be part of NACD?

The answer to that question may help communicate the value of NACD membership to districts!

The above examples are just a few of the many programs NACD provides to members, all of which are possible thanks to membership dues!

As we approach the end of our fiscal year (Sept. 30), we are happy to receive those last minute dues payments! Please contact Ariel if you have questions about any of NACD's programs, or if you need any help in communicating the value of NACD.
