Peninsula Cross Country Striding to Success

Last weekend, the Peninsula XC team traveled to the famed (and notoriously difficult) Mt. SAC Invitational at Mt. San Antonio College. The big news is junior Aishling Callanan not only won the prestigious Individual Sweeps race, but her time of 17:15 was the second fastest girls time of the entire 4,000-athlete meet. Hot on the heels of her course record-smashing performance last week, her race at Mt. SAC earned her consideration for California State XC Athlete of The Week for the second week in a row! Please vote for her here.

The girls varsity team also finished sixth in the super competitive Sweeps race, which propelled them to an eighth-place season ranking in the Southern Section for D2. This is not only the highest the girls team has been ranked in well over a decade, but with this ranking they are guaranteed a spot at CIF-SS Prelims on Nov. 12.

The boys team also fared well with an eighth place in the varsity race, led by senior Connor Spencer's sixth-place performance with a time of 15:47 over the 3-mile course. Run panthers, run!
Volunteer By Making Holiday Cards for Children’s Hospitals

Our SLL class is hosting a card-making event to spread holiday cheer to children’s hospitals across the nation. Drop by the library on Wednesday, November 3rd, and make a few cards anytime from the start of 6th period to 3:30 P.M. It’s a fun way to earn volunteer hours and put a smile on someone else’s face. RSVP at HERE and supplies will be provided. We hope to see you there!
Update from the PVPHS Cheer Squad

Here's an update on PVPHS Cheer and all that we’ve been doing this fall aside from cheering for our Peninsula Panthers Football teams ( which we love doing) and all of our fun lunchtime pep rally‘s we’ve been practicing hard, always working and growing together!!

We performed at the mammal Care Center in San Pedro for their opening day.
We also performed and supported their runners at the Torrance Memorial Relay For Life that was held at South high in Torrance

Last Sunday the 24th we cheered on all of the walkers at the Sketchers Pier 2 Pier Walk supporting the Friendship Foundation

We also invited some of the Palos Verdes Pop Warner cheer teams to come and perform at halftime of one of our junior varsity football games that was a lot of fun. Everyone really enjoyed their performances and it’s always great to invite people to come be a part of our Panther Family.

Homecoming week was great and we held our annual varsity dinner with football. Always fun!

We will be getting ready for basketball season reviewing basketball cheers and learning new routines and stunts and preparing for another performance on November 6 for Peninsula Ed foundation event and on Nov 14 for the SCC cheer competition we will be doing an exhibition performance.

Representing Peninsula High school is an honor and privilege and we love doing that all year round!
