SHARE:
For the past 16 years, the Women’s Center, AdvanceVT, the Graduate School, the Women’s and Gender Studies program, and the VT Women’s Alliance and Caucus have hosted a Welcome Reception for New Women Colleagues. This annual tradition is an informal opportunity for new women faculty, staff and graduate students at VT to gather as a community, begin forging connections and networks, and to share resource information, and more.

This year we are sad to miss the opportunity to welcome our new colleagues in person, but offer this virtual message and resource page as a welcoming gesture. We all look forward to the opportunity to meet face-to-face as soon as it is safe and healthy to do so.
After Care Kit Donations
As part of SAVES Service week and Domestic Violence Awareness Month, SAVES will be creating care packages for sexual assault survivors after examinations in the Emergency Room. These kits will be given to forensic nursing staff at local hospitals so they may provide more comfort and care to survivors.

If you would like to support this initiative, please consider purchasing items from their Amazon Wish List. Scan the QR to the left or click here to choose items from the list.

The After Care packing session will take place on October 28th in Squires Brush Mountain A.
Little Hokie Hand Me Down Donations
Little Hokie Hand Me Down is a program for graduate students and staff members with kids. The event offers university students and staff members with children the opportunity to “shop” for a wide range of infant and children’s clothes, accessories, and other items they may need, free of charge.

We are currently accepting donations from now until November 8th. Items should be contained in boxes or bags, and dropped off at the Women's Center.

For more information, contact Jessie Meltsner.

We provide a fun evening of play, crafts, movies (and a snack!) each Thursday night while classes are in session from 6:30-8pm. Kids must be toilet trained and masked. Childcare is provided by volunteers from the Chi Delta Alpha Service Sorority.

Look for a unique sign-up link every Monday on the Women’s Center website Enrollment is on a first come/first served basis. For additional information contact Jessie Meltsner at jmelts@vt.edu
