Parsha Talk
A friend of mine finished first in his class in eighth grade....out of 10 students. He also ended up first in his class in high school, this time in a class of 80+ students. Which performance sounds better? Without knowing any more detail, it sounds more impressive to be first in the larger pool of students of course. Would he have been first in his grade the next year, or was that a higher-performing class? Did the other bright students in his grade challenge him to be better? And how does this connect to the star of this week's parsha, Noach? Find out in this week's parsha video!

Color Your World With:
JEWISH HOLIDAYS! It has been a whirlwind month, with no Beren Buzz since September 2! This is our first full week back, but the learning and fun was going on all month. Students also enjoyed Chol Hamoed Fun Days including bowling, tie dye, and a petting zoo. A special thank you to our parent volunteers Monika Weisz-Hubshman, Annie Scheckter, Yocheved Schlachter, Noa Rosenzweig, and Talya Machuca, who helped all our younger students tie-dye their new RMBA spirit shirts!

Each week a student from each one of Mrs. Gelmans 7th-12th grade classes writes an original Haiku about the parsha and a Dvar Torah about the Haftorah. This week's H & H covering Parashat Noach features Jonah Schneider (7th grade), Amichai Gelman (8th grade), Donny Silverstone (9th grade), and Shani Yanowitz (11th grade). Click here for some parsha inspiration you can share at your shabbat table.

From the desk of the STEAM Lab
In this fun full week of STEAM classes we learned about scientists, what they do, and how they do it with tools to make their work easier! We had so much fun with our sudsy bubble experiment, measuring distance with our rulers and without (estimate measuring), measuring weight with our scales, seeing small objects up close with hand lens and microscopes, and practicing pouring in and out of plastic beakers! Look out world, RMBA is full of little scientists!
