Halloween Safe Night will be
a drive thru grab & go event
Saturday, October 31, 4-6 p.m., City Hall Campus
Halloween hasn’t ghosted us yet. It is still on the calendar. We are, however, still in the midst of a pandemic, so it will look a little different this year.

Plans are underway for a drive-thru event, still on the City Hall Campus, that will feature grab-n-go treat bags and some other fun surprises!

La Vista’s alternative Halloween event will take place on Saturday, October 31, 4-6 p.m. in the parking lots at City Hall and the Community Center (8116 Park View Blvd.).

Vehicles will enter the event from 81st Street off Park View Boulevard and follow directional signs. Each child will receive an extraordinary treat bag, while supplies last! Vehicles exit on westbound Park View Blvd.

This event is open to all La Vista residents, and treats will be available while supplies last.

Spread the Warmth Coat Drive concludes this week - donate now!
Let’s work together to keep our community warm this winter!

Coats collected during this year’s drive will be given to local families through a partnership with ReRuns R Fun and Papillion La Vista Community Schools.

Donations of hats and mittens are also welcome.

You can drop off your donations at:
  • La Vista City Hall/Community Center
  • La Vista Public Library
  • La Vista Police Department
  • La Vista Public Works
  • La Vista Chiropractic
  • Gateway Auto
  • Divine Truth Christian Store

We’ve made some adjustments based on the pandemic.

First, our timeline for collecting donations has narrowed and we will be collecting donations in October only this year.

Also, instead of hosting distribution events, we will distribute this year will run through the school system, utilizing each school’s counselor to determine need in their building and to distribute as well.

For more information, contact Community Relations Coordinator Mitch Beaumont at City Hall, 402-593-6410, or via e-mail.
