Expanded Advent Begins on Sunday, November 7
After a good response last year, we will try on Expanded Advent again this year. Sunday, November 7 begins the season. Advent means “coming.” We wait expectantly for the coming again of God: Come, Lord Jesus. We lean into continuing to envision new ways to regather ourselves as followers of Jesus and people of joy and hope in a world that suffers. Read more about expanded Advent and Advent events.
Dedication of the 125th Anniversary Memorial Organ celebrating the Founding of Christ Church
Last Sunday, October 24, Christ Church celebrated the year much-anticipated, year-long delayed dedication of our 125th Anniversary Memorial Organ, built by Dan Lemieux of Meta Organworks. We basked in the beauty of music produced by this state-of-the- art virtual pipe organ (VPO) organ. Thank you to Charles Raines, the Organ Committee and all the people who donated toward the purchase of the organ. It was a team effort. A brass plaque adorns the organ console. Pictured here with the celebratory anniversary cake, "When in our music God is glorified," are Charles Raines, organist and Pam Goody, Music Director.
