Plant Your Home Orchard! April 6, 2021
There is nothing like the taste of fresh fruit from your own backyard. The nursery has a beautiful selection of fruit trees ready for planting.

Karen Campney "K.C.", Nursery Manger is starting to bring our flowering fruit trees out of the greenhouse! "Now is a good time to plant your fruit trees. They will have less transplant shock as they are just coming out of dormancy. With these warmer days their flower buds are opening!"

If you haven't pruned your fruit trees yet this year, you are a few weeks too late. If needed, do it next winter before they start to break dormancy. If you were to trim them now, you will cut off the flower buds; the source of the fruit.

Click here to peruse our catalog for the fruit trees we are carrying this year. There are quite a few tasty varieties to choose from in apples, cherries, peaches, pears, plums, Elderberry, Mulberry and Paw Paw!

Stop in today and let our professional nursery staff help you select your fruit trees from the largest selection of the year! We are happy to deliver, plant and help you be successful with your home orchard!

Now is the time to get your Spring Bulbs for Summer Flowers!
Click here for JP's short video on planting Spring Bulbs in containers for blooms all summer long!

You can plant Spring Bulbs in containers indoors to get a jump start. Otherwise, the earliest you should plant them outside is mid-April, about two weeks before the last frost and this year, it looks like that might be April 26.
Can't wait? Large Dahlias in 6" pots are blooming in the greenhouse NOW!
Get ready.
Get set... hummingbirds and orioles will be making their way through soon.

Did you know, the hummingbirds follow the available food sources as they migrate. So, when your crabapples, cherry blossoms, and fruit trees start to flower, your feeders should be out and ready for them as the scouts will be looking for a food source!

Spring cleanups are underway!

If you haven't yet, now is the time to cut back your ornamental grasses and rose bushes. Click here for our how-to videos.

As you clean your perennial beds, now is the ideal time to divide ornamental grasses, hosta and iris.
Now is also the ideal time to treat infested trees and shrubs with Bonide's Annual Tree & Shrub Insect Control.
This pest control is great for use on adelgids, aphids, bronze birch borers, emerald ash borer, leaf miners, scale, and many other species of bugs. It will also prevent new infestations. We carry it in the Garden Center as a concentrate as well as Ready-To-Use.
Our professional staff has put together a series of helpful how-to videos and introductions to everything from Bird Feeders to Pruning, from Plant Care to Starting Your Gardens from Seed.
