GENERAL
JNHS
The Japanese National Honor Society is hosting an onigiri event TODAY from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. Live demonstrations by the Japanese Parents' Association will show participants how to make the traditional rice balls. Registration may be made by clicking here.
 
FEED THE STUDENTS
Now through winter break, the cafeteria is offering curbside pickup for a FREE breakfast and lunch every school day from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm. Come to the Gate 3 entrance before Basswood where the line forms outside the gym. This program is open to any student 18 and under and recipients do not need to be enrolled in PVPUSD. No pre-order required. All meals include an entrée, choice of milk and seasonal fruit and vegetables. Menus are at pvpusdschoolnutrition.net.
 
MU ALPHA THETA
Students interested in signing up for Mu Alpha Theta are welcome to come to the informational meeting on Monday, Nov. 2 at 12:15 pm. You must be enrolled in a pre-calculus or higher math class to join. Go to the TEAMS link posted on the membership page here or email questions to [email protected].
 
CHRISTMAS TREE SALE
Purchase a beautiful Douglas fir or Noble fir Christmas tree and help Pen's baseball team too. Starting TODAY, you may download the order form here and give the completed form to any baseball player or contact the parent coordinator at [email protected]. Deadline to order is Monday, Nov. 2. All purchases include home delivery on Saturday, Dec. 5.

Like math? Like to compete? Then you should participate in the American Mathematics Competition on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021. If interested, sign up here by Friday, Nov. 6. After registering, you'll be directed to an online payment platform for the $5 competition fee. Email [email protected] with questions.

COLLEGE CAREER CENTER
VIRTUAL COLLEGE KNOWLEDGE SERIES CONTINUES
The 2020 Virtual College Knowledge series continues TODAY at 6:30 pm with Cailin White of the Outreach and School Relations at California State University, Dominguez Hills. She will go through the CSU application in detail so be sure to have started your application and come in prepared with your questions. Registration is required and may be done by clicking here.
 
VIRTUAL COLLEGE REP VISITS
More than 130 schools have virtually visited Pen this fall and this week we will welcome 22 more. Two to three schools are combined per visit and PVPHS students are expected to have cameras on during the entire event. You must register on Naviance 24 hours before the event in order to attend. Included in the coming week are: University of Southern California; Texas Christian University; Louisiana State University; Sarah Lawrence; Bentley; Franklin University of Switzerland; UC Irvine and more.
