Late August fun at the library

Hello, library friends --
We've been happy to see so many visitors in the last few months. Labor Day is approaching fast, but even though summer is coming to a close, that doesn't mean you have to stop visiting the library! We have a busy week planned, so read on for details about our remaining August events (including one event cancellation).
Changing covid-19 conditions might mean more changes to library activities this fall. We're proceeding as planned with all of our activities so far, but we'll continue to act with the safety of our community in mind as we make decisions in the coming months. Visit our website anytime for the latest announcements, keep reading this newsletter, or follow us on Facebook for library and town news.
See you at the library!

Dollar a Day, Boys! A musical tribute to the CCC
Ironwood based singer and storyteller Bill Jamerson will present a music and storytelling program about the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) at the Mercer Public Library on Thursday, August 26 at 1:00 p.m.
The program will be held outside if the weather permits, so bring a lawn chair or blanket. As of this afternoon the forecast is calling for rain on Thursday, and in that case the event will be moved indoors. If we move inside, masks will be required for visitors who are not vaccinated and strongly recommended for everyone.

The outdoor movie scheduled for tonight has been cancelled. It's been tricky to make these events happen this summer, but if you have ideas for future outdoor events please let us know. We have a projector, large inflatable screen, speakers, and other equipment needed for outdoor movies, and we'd be happy to hear your creative ideas about how to use them!
