New Student-Run Saxbys Café in Rowan Business Hall

Nick Bayer, Saxbys Café Founder & CEO, and Melody Wozunk, Saxbys Student Café Executive Officer at Rowan University, hosted RCIE's first Spotlight Speaker Series event of the fall semester.
Rowan students Michelle Martinez, the inaugural recipient of the RCB MBA Fellowship in Innovation and Impact, and Nicholas Nastasi, Management major with a minor in Management Information Systems, moderated the discussion centered around Bayer's entrepreneurial journey and Wozunk's experience as the first Student CEO of Saxbys in Business Hall, which had its grand opening last month. They also addressed topics such as leadership, social entrepreneurship, resiliency and innovative business strategies. Read more about the event here.

Project Nest is an annual case competition hosted by InvestMed, a student organization at RowanSOM. The event is open to students enrolled in any of the following programs: RowanSOM, Cooper Medical School, Rowan's Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, or the Rohrer College of Business.
The goal of the event is for students to showcase their entrepreneurial skills by designing and presenting a novel project that fills a need in medicine, access, or wellness within the Rowan community.
The competition will take please on November 8th 2021 and the submission deadline is November 1st by 11:59pm. Click here for more details or to apply today.

The RCIE and Rowan Innovation Venture Fund are excited to partner on the 2021 Idea Challenge. Enter for a chance to win seed funding and move your idea forward. The Idea Challenge encourages students from across all Rowan colleges to enter and provides a unique format to ensure that the idea has the needed resources to become a real business. Rowan Represented at TechUnited Propelify Convention

Jerah Siegal (Entrepreneurship '21), Founder of Biodome, and Brandon Graham (MBA '20), Co-Founder and CEO of Arke Aeronautics, represented Rowan at TechUnited Propelify Tech & Innovation Convention. Siegal and Graham had the opportunity to network and gain knowledge from several valuable sessions. It was a great experience for both of them!

NSF Grant Enables Researches to Expand Engineering Safety
|
Dr. Cheryl Bodnar, Associate Professor and Graduate Coordinator in the ExEEd and Provost Fellow, is asking questions around the safety repercussions of engineers' decisions. Dr. Bodnar, along with her collaborators, received a grant from the National Science Foundation that supports an immersive new way of exploring these questions through the virtual simulation game, "Contents Under Pressure".
