Ripple Effect: A 25-Year Survey
November 10, 2021, 3 p.m. EST
Join us for a studio visit and discussion with Blanche Tilden and Katie Scott, of Gallery Funaki, about Tilden’s traveling exhibition, Ripple Effect: A 25-Year Survey.
Tilden plays with the forms of industrial modernity in impeccable works assembled from purpose-made glass and metal components. Often these are long sinuous chains that invoke the imagery of mass production. While they seem removed from human intervention, each part is lovingly crafted, and something of their emotionally remote perfection speaks of nostalgia for a mechanically ordered view of the universe.
