  • General Membership Meeting and Summer Celebration at Al Moody Park: Join your MVNA neighbors on June 16th from 5-8 pm for community and City information tables, MVNA board elections, live music from Coyote Willow, and free ice cream and pizza. Watch your mailbox for your invitation and see the MVNA website for more info.


  • Board Elections: Elections will be held at our June 16th event, and we need neighbors to join our board. Board duties include attending monthly meetings and monitoring City business. Check out our board roles here and email us to add your name to the ballot!


  • Bylaws Approval: The MVNA bylaws have been updated and need a vote of approval from our general membership. Key changes include accommodations for virtual meetings and clarifications of board roles and leadership positions. Please review the bylaws here to vote for their approval on June 16. Changes are highlighted and in red text and can be found on pages 5 and 6.



  • NLA representative: The Neighborhood Leadership Alliance (NLA) consists of one representative from each of the 13 City Neighborhood Associations who meet monthly with City representatives to encourage and maintain communciation between the City and the 13 NAs. MVNA needs a new NLA representative. If interested, contact us for more information.

Houselessness Updates


  • The City of Bend recently approved the proposed shelter code changes, but with adjustments in response to advocacy from many different groups. Read up on these changes here: Shelter Code Changes


  • Outdoor High Barrier Shelter Proposed for 62010 SE 27th St., Bend, OR 97701. The City Council approved the proposal for this on June 1. See the City webpage Outdoor Shelters for specific information on this new proposed shelter.


Fireworks Ban Reminder


With summer approaching, we ask our MVNA neighbors to remember that all fireworks are banned in Bend. This includes personal fireworks that were allowed in the past. With the persistent dry conditions, let's all do our part to prevent fires in Bend.

Bend Police Chief Advisory Council Accepting Applications until June 15


We hope to see representation from MVNA on this advisory council! The Bend Police Department has opened the application process for community members interested in volunteering on the Police Chief's Advisory Council (PCAC). This council will consist of up to 20 community members with broad and diverse life experiences that reflect the Bend community.

Neighborhood Liaison News

We ask that all our MVNA liaisons attend a few of our board meetings each year, and this June 16th meeting is a great one to pick! We hope to meet you in person and hear from you on how we can work together to ensure livability for all in our NA. Don't forget to check the Liaison News page on our MVNA website for updates. and resources like the graffiti reporting reference guide, street safety request process, Citizen Service Requests, and the Neighborhood Safe Streets Program (NSSP).

MVNA Transportation Projects

Representatives from the City of Bend in charge of the Purcell Expansion project will be at the June 16th Event at Al Moody Park from 5-6pm. This is a great opportunity to ask questions about this up coming change to our neighborhood!
