EP GIVES: 4.29.21
Join the Eden Prairie Community Foundation this evening at 7:00 p.m. for their virtual event celebrating the foundation's 40 years of philanthropy. EP Gives will be hosted by Tom Butler, FOX 9 Morning News anchor and Eden Prairie resident. This event includes an online auction (open for bidding from 12:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.) with vacation getaways, amazing experiences for all ages and gift certificates to local establishments. There will be messages from valued community leaders and uplifting stories of the foundation's impact on the community. This event is open to all and registration is free. SEE HOPE GROW: 4.29.21
Tonight rom 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., join TreeHouse to watch the premiere of See Hope Grow on YouTube from the comfort of your own home and chat live with others watching. See Hope Grow will take you inside a program night at TreeHouse to experience how teens are finding community, love, and support every week. This short film will allow you to follow teens through a program night, from van rides, to dinner, to games, and teens sharing together. You'll hear real stories and experience up-close moments with teens, volunteers, and staff. To register for this free event, visit See Hope Grow.
NAMI GAME NIGHT: 4.30.21
Looking for a family-friendly, entertaining way to spend a Friday night? Then put the FUN back in FUNdraising with NAMI Minnesota on Friday, April 30th from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. for Game Night, presented by HealthPartners, an online event to support NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness).
 

The evening will include a warm welcome from Sue Abderholden (NAMI Minnesota's Executive Director), a greeting from HealthPartners (Game Night's Presenting Sponsor), a mental health-themed scavenger hunt, a trivia contest, and a creative game that involves small group competition. Game show-themed costumes (or even just a silly hat) are encouraged but not required!

ARBOR DAY DRIVE-THRU AND TREE TREK: 5.1.21
Join the City of Eden Prairie on May 1st from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at Round Lake Park located at 16691 Valley View Road. Celebrate spring with an eco-friendly goody bag giveaway, story stroll and self guided tree trek. Visitors are guided to a drive-thru area where they can get their re-useable goody bag filled with helpful information, suggestions for eco-friendly projects, temporary tattoos, a wild flower seed bomb kit for pollinators and an at-home nature-based kit. This event is free and 200 bags will be available on a first come, first served basis.
SPRING CAR SEAT CLINIC: 5.1.21
Have you ever wondered if you installed your child's car seat correctly? The Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety estimates that in Minnesota, three out of four child seats are being used incorrectly. If you would like help with your child's car seat, come to the Eden Prairie Police Department's Spring Car Seat Clinic on Saturday, May 1st at Eden Prairie Fire Station #1 (14800 Scenic Heights Road) from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Certified car seat technicians will check your car seat for proper installation. There are no appointments needed for this free clinic. Please be sure to bring a mask for everyone age five and older, your car seat, manual and child to the clinic. If you are unable to come to the clinic on May 1st, please call 952-949-6200 to schedule an appointment with a certified car seat technician.
MYHEALTH CHILDREN'S DENTAL CLINIC: 5.12.21
A low cost dental care clinic will be offered at 15 8th Avenue South in Hopkins on May 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This clinic provides services for children from birth to age 26 years old and pregnant women. Services that are available are exams, x-rays, cleanings, fluoride, sealants, oral health education, fillings, crowns and extractions. Covid procedures are in place to protect patients and staff. Children's Dental accepts all forms of insurance and offers reduced cost care under an income based sliding fee scale. To set up an appointment, call 612-746-1530 and ask to have your appointment at the myHealth for teens and young adults location.

The goal of the Hennepin County Library is to provide library services ensuring every person has the opportunity and resources to read, graduate, engage, work and learn. Hennepin County Library is a national leader of library service, innovation and excellence. Our 41 libraries, website and outreach services serve 1.2 million county residents over 611 square miles.

RENTHELPMN IS NOW OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS
RentHelpMN makes it possible for eligible renters to get caught up on overdue rent and utilities dating all the way back to March 13, 2020. It also makes provisions for those at risk of falling behind on rent payments due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The 211 helpline also has dedicated multiligual staff available to answer questions about RentHelpMN from 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
CAP ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM CHANGES
The Community Action Partnership of Hennepin County has changes to its energy assistance program that went into effect on April, 16 2021. The application to the energy assisatnce program has been extended to September 1, 2021. Crisis funding increased from $600 to $1200. The Energy Assistance Program's eligibility threshold also increased to 60% of state median income. CAP'S Energy Assistance Program can help with payment of energy bills, help with utility disconnections or fuel deliveries, and repair or replacement of homeowners' broken heating systems.
