Jan 6th commission.jpg

Gather with other Democrats at our headquarters to watch a live broadcast of the January 6th Commission hearings on

Thursday evening, June 9th at 8 PM

Although there are many events calling for our attention, we cannot afford to brush aside the most heinous attack on our democracy. For this reason, watch events are being held nationwide to bring together people committed to protecting our democracy and holding Trump and his allies to account for their actions.

Please join us and bring your like-minded friends! Free pizza and refreshments.

WHERE:  71 S. Dixie Highway, Suite 6, St.Augustine, FL

WHEN: 8PM, Thursday, June 9th

MARCH FOR OUR LIVES, ST. AUGUSTINE

M4OL logo.png

Since the ban on assault weapons expired in 2004, the U.S. has seen mass shootings skyrocket. In just the first six months of this year, Americans have suffered at least 4 mass shootings each week. At this time, the number 1 killer of children in our country is gun violence.

Gun safety should be a top policy priority. Join us and be part of the call for change!

Guest speakers will include local students, teachers, and community leaders.

Join us on the lawn of the Castillo de San Marcos in Saint Augustine (1 S Castillo Drive, St. Augustine, FL 32084). Bring your lawn chairs or a blanket.

WATCH YOUR MAIL FOR VOTING INFORMATION FROM THE SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS

OVER THE NEXT WEEK, you should receive a guide to the upcoming elections in your mailbox, sent to you by the St. Johns County Supervisor of Elections. It provides very helpful information that takes into account the new laws regarding voting in Florida. Every St. Johns County resident should receive a guide. You may also view a digital version of the guide here.

REMEMBER: Your precinct number, precinct polling place, congressional district, and early voting locations MAY have changed as a result of redistricting. The Elections Office is preparing to send a new Voter Information Card to every registered voter which will list this information, even if it has not changed.  You should receive your card within the next couple of weeks. If you do not receive it by the end of the month, contact the Supervisor of Elections at 904-823-2238.

TOUR THE OFFICES OF THE ST. JOHNS COUNTY SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS

The Supervisor of Elections for St. Johns County has been offering public tours of their facility. Several of our members have done the two-hour tour and found it very informative and useful.

The last tour this year will be held on Friday, June 10th at 10:00 am, as the office is moving into preparations for the election. If you are interested in attending, please email SOE Representative Jen Reis at JReis@votesjc.gov to reserve your seat by Thursday, June 9th.

HELP REGISTER VOTERS!

Please sign up to help register voters with the St. Johns Democrats! We need volunteers at our scheduled tabling events at the locations and times shown.

After signing up, we will contact you to provide the table, chairs, signs, clipboards, forms and whatever else is needed. You can also use one of our canopies for shade if desired. Bring your hat, sunscreen, bottled water and a great big smile! THANK YOU!

CALL FOR POLL WATCHERS

Our Democratic Voter Protection Team in St. Johns County is gearing up for the 2022 Primary and General Elections. The team is seeking Democrats interested in serving as a Poll Watcher in our county. Please click HERE to indicate your interest in being a Poll Watcher in the 2022 Election Cycle.

As a reminder - a Poll Watcher is authorized by the Supervisor of Elections to enter the Polling Place and watch what is going on. A Poll Watcher does this on behalf of the local Democratic Party or a Candidate Committee. This is not the same as a Poll Worker who is hired by the Supervisor of Elections to assist with the administration of the election, or a Poll Greeter who helps voters with questions outside the Polling Place.

The Florida Democratic Party will be conducting training sessions in July and we will have local training sessions closer to the election in early August.

If you have questions, please contact the Voter Protection Team by sending an email HERE.Thank you!
