V/WSSP is excited to welcome our three newest staff members: Tanes’ja Jackson (pictured center), Caroline Kirchner (pictured left) and Terry Parker (pictured right). All three have joined our Neighborhood Based Program and are providing direct services to victims. Tanes'ja is not so new and has been at V/WSSP for a year now Caroline and Terry joined in January.
Tanes'ja is a graduate of Temple University with a major in Philosophy Pre-Law and minors in African American Studies and Africology. When she's not working Tanes’ja enjoys doing hair and coloring and customizing wigs. Tanes’ja says "I chose this line of work to make a positive impact within the community, to be a helping hand for those who are in need of assistance, and to be there to listen when no one else is."
Caroline will be working as our Youth Advocate. She is also a graduate of Temple University where she majored in Anthropology. She previously had internships with the National Park Service and WOAR- Philadelphia Center Against Sexual Violence. Caroline participated in an archaeological excavation in Anguilla and did ethnographic research on motherhood while studying abroad in India. She enjoys travel, collecting vintage clothes/furniture, and playing the banjo.
Terry is a graduate of the University of the West Indies in Jamaica where she majored in Tourism Management. She previously taught English as a Second Language in Tokyo, Japan. She worked as a Group Sales Coordinator at the Best Western Premier Grand Canyon Squire Inn, where she hiked the Grand Canyon. She loves reading, hiking, trying different cuisines, vintage clothes/furniture shopping and traveling.
